United Airlines Flight Attendant
United Airlines is seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join its team as Flight Attendants. As a Flight Attendant, the individual plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of passengers while providing exceptional customer service on every flight. Responsibilities:
- Ensure the highest levels of safety and security on board the aircraft.

- Be available for global assignments 24/7, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
- Fulfill reserve assignments on short notice and be away from base for extended periods.
- Work independently and as part of a cohesive team.
- Serve and/or sell food and beverages, including alcohol, responsibly and professionally.
- Operate electronic devices (phones, tablets, laptops) proficiently to complete required tasks.
Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
- High school graduate or GED equivalent; two or more years of college preferred.
- Minimum of one year of customer service experience in a service industry (retail, hospitality, food service, education, aviation, social service, etc.).
- Must be able to speak clearly, concisely, and loudly in English.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand German fluently.
- Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.
- Effective communication skills in high-stress situations.
- Professional appearance and adherence to grooming standards and uniform guidelines.
- Tattoos are permitted on arms, wrists, legs, and feet if they are no larger than a credit card (3.5 inches long x 2.24 inches wide) or can be covered by the standard uniform, and are not offensive. Tattoos are not permitted on the head, hands, or neck.
- No decorative covers, adornments, or jewelry on teeth or in the mouth.
- Must possess a valid passport with at least 18 months of validity remaining.
- Must be able to travel to and from all countries United serves without restrictions. Applicants are responsible for verifying travel eligibility.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects (up to 70lbs), and push/pull a beverage cart (up to 250 lbs).
- Ability to pass a functional reach assessment with a combined 76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal reach.
- Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Must successfully complete an evacuation drill in water during training.
- Must be willing to complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, comprehensive background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.
- Must be able to pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens.
- Must be able to pass a 10-year background check.
Training and Compensation:
New Flight Attendants will undergo a comprehensive 6.5-week training program in Houston, TX, learning United's safety and customer service standards. United provides a $140/week per diem, accommodations, breakfast, and lunch during training. Upon successful completion of training, the individual will be assigned to one of United's hub locations.
The starting hourly flight pay is $28.88/hour, with increases based on seniority, language skills, lead positions, and international trips.
