Flexibility is paramount in this role. Flight Attendants must be available for global assignments 24/7, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours. They will fulfill reserve assignments on short notice and may be away from their base for extended periods. Dependability and timeliness are critical to success.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
- High school graduate or GED; two or more years of college preferred.
- Minimum of one year of customer service experience in the service industry (retail, hospitality, food, teaching/education, aviation, social service).
- Must be able to speak in a clear, concise, and organized manner, loudly enough to be heard in an emergency.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
- Must be able to read and speak Italian fluently.
- Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.
- Effectively communicate in high-stress situations.
- Professional appearance and excellent grooming standards, adhering to uniform, hair, tattoo, and piercing guidelines. Tattoos are NOT permitted on the head, hands, or neck. Visible tattoos on arms, wrists, legs, and feet must meet size and content restrictions.
- No decorative covers, adornments, or jewelry on teeth or in the mouth are permitted.
- Proficient in operating electronic devices (phones, tablets, laptops, etc.).
- Must possess a valid passport with 18 months of validity remaining.
- Ability to travel to and from all countries United serves without restrictions.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects (up to 70 lbs), and push/pull beverage carts (up to 250 lbs).
- Ability to pass a functional reach assessment (76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal).
- Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
- Required to serve and/or sell food and beverages (including alcohol).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule in support of United’s 24/7 operation.
- Successful completion of an evacuation drill in water (pool) during training.
- Must be willing to complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, comprehensive background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.
- Must be able to pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens.
- Must be able to pass a 10-year background check, including criminal background history.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Starting hourly flight pay of $28.88/hour, with top of base scale at $67.11/hour.

United Airlines provides comprehensive training in Houston, TX, covering safety and customer service standards. Upon successful completion of training, Flight Attendants will be assigned to one of United's hub locations: Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark, San Francisco, Washington Dulles, or another flight attendant base location.
