Responsibilities:
- Prioritize passenger safety and security by adhering to all safety regulations and procedures.

- Be available for global assignments 24/7, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
- Fulfill reserve assignments on short notice and be away from base for extended periods.
- Serve and sell food and beverages, including alcohol, in a diligent and professional manner.
- Effectively communicate in high-stress situations, such as aircraft evacuations, security threats, and medical emergencies.
Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
- High school graduate or GED equivalent; two or more years of college preferred.
- Minimum of one year of customer service experience in a service industry (e.g., retail, hospitality, food service, teaching, aviation, social services).
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English and Dutch fluently.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, projecting voice effectively in emergency situations.
- Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.
- Must possess a valid passport with at least 18 months of validity remaining and be able to travel to and from all countries United serves without restrictions.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule supporting a 24/7 operation, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to proficiently operate electronic devices (phones, tablets, laptops, etc.).
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects (up to 250 lbs) and push and pull beverage carts.
- Ability to pass a functional reach assessment (76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal).
- Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
- Professional appearance and willingness to adhere to uniform, hair, tattoo, and piercing guidelines. Tattoos are not permitted on the head, hands, or neck. Visible tattoos on arms, wrists, legs, and feet must be smaller than a credit card (3.5 x 2.24 inches) and non-offensive. Decorative covers, adornments, and/or jewelry on teeth are not permitted.
- Must be willing to complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, comprehensive background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests. Must be able to pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens. Medical and recreational marijuana are prohibited. Must be able to pass a 10-year background check.
Training and Compensation:
- Successful candidates will undergo a comprehensive 6.5-week training program in Houston, TX, covering United safety and customer service standards. A weekly stipend is provided during training, along with accommodations, breakfast, and lunch.
- Starting hourly flight pay is $28.88, with top of base scale reaching $67.11 per hour.
- Seniority-based pay increases are provided, along with additional compensation for language skills, lead positions, and international trips.
- Successful training graduates will receive a $1,000 bonus.
