United Airlines Flight Attendant

As a Flight Attendant, the individual will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of passengers while delivering exceptional customer service on every flight. Responsibilities:

- Fulfill reserve assignments on short notice and be away from base for extended periods.

- Serve and/or sell food and beverages (including alcohol) in a diligent and professional manner.
Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
- High school graduate or GED equivalent; two or more years of college preferred.
- Minimum of one year of customer service experience in the service industry (retail, hospitality, food, teaching/education, aviation, social service).
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
- Must be able to read and speak German fluently.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, even in high-stress situations.
- Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.
- Professional appearance and adherence to grooming standards.
- Must adhere to tattoo and piercing guidelines (Tattoos are NOT permitted on the head, hands, or neck, including behind the ear. Visible tattoos on arms, wrists, legs, and feet must not be larger than a credit card (3.5 inches long x 2.24 inches wide) or they must be covered with standard uniform pieces and not offensive).
- Decorative covers, adornments, and/or jewelry on teeth or in the mouth are not permitted.
- Proficiency in operating electronic devices (phones, tablets, laptops).
- Must possess a valid passport with at least 18 months of validity remaining.
- Ability to travel to and from all countries United serves without restrictions.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects (up to 70 lbs), and push/pull beverage carts (up to 250 lbs).
- Ability to pass a functional reach assessment (76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal).
- Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Must successfully complete an evacuation drill in the water (pool) during training.
- Must pass pre-employment DOT drug screen, comprehensive background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.
- Must pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens (medical and recreational marijuana is prohibited).
- Must be able to pass a 10-year background check.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Starting hourly flight pay of $28.88/hour, with top of base scale at $67.11/hour.
