Responsibilities
As a United Flight Attendant, you will play a vital role in ensuring a safe and enjoyable travel experience for every passenger. Your responsibilities will include:

Qualifications
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Minimum age of 21 years at the time of application.
- High school diploma or equivalent; a college degree is preferred.
- At least one year of experience in a customer service role within the service industry (e.g., retail, hospitality, food service, teaching/education, aviation, social service).
- Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to speak clearly and loudly in emergency situations.
- Fluency in both spoken and written English, with the ability to read and speak Japanese fluently.
- Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and remain composed in high-stress situations, such as aircraft evacuations, security threats, delays, medical emergencies, severe weather, and turbulence.
- Professional appearance and adherence to United's uniform, hair, tattoo, and piercing guidelines.
- Tattoos are not permitted on the head, hands, or neck, including behind the ears. Visible tattoos on arms, wrists, legs, and feet must be no larger than a credit card and must not contain offensive imagery.
- Decorative covers, adornments, and jewelry on teeth or in the mouth are not permitted.
- Proficiency in operating electronic devices for task completion.
- Valid passport with at least 18 months of validity remaining at the time of application.
- Ability to travel to and from all countries served by United Airlines without restrictions.
- Physical capabilities to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects (such as luggage), and push/pull beverage carts (up to 250 lbs.).
- Ability to pass a functional reach assessment (76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal reach).
- Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
- Willingness to serve and/or sell food and beverages (including alcohol) in a professional manner.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts.
Training and Onboarding
Successful applicants will undergo a comprehensive 6.5-week training program in Houston, TX. Training includes:
- United safety and customer service standards.
- Evacuation drill in the water (pool).
- Pre-employment DOT drug screen, comprehensive background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.
- DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens.
- 10-year background check.
Compensation and Benefits
