Senior Experimental Test Pilot / Experimental Test Pilot

XP Services, Inc. is actively seeking experienced Experimental Test Pilots to contribute to the development, certification, and operational transition of a high-performance turboprop aircraft program. The selected professionals will join a specialized team dedicated to developmental flight testing, systems evaluation, and aircraft integration. This role involves both domestic and international flight test operations, culminating in FAA certification within the United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute comprehensive developmental and certification flight test programs.
  • Author essential documentation, including test plans, test cards, risk assessments, and formal flight test reports.
  • Execute envelope expansion, systems evaluation, and aircraft performance testing.
  • Collaborate directly with engineering departments to identify, analyze, and resolve technical challenges.
  • Provide expert support for certification activities in coordination with regulatory authorities.
  • Offer technical leadership across a multidisciplinary flight test organization.

Required Qualifications

  • FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with an Instrument Rating.
  • Valid FAA First or Second Class Medical certificate.
  • Minimum of 2,500 hours of total flight time.
  • Proven experience in developmental, experimental, military, certification, or OEM flight testing.
  • Strong technical writing and professional communication skills.

Desired Experience

  • Graduate of a military or civilian Test Pilot School.
  • Direct experience in FAA certification flight testing.
  • Background in Part 23, Part 25, Restricted Category, or military derivative aircraft certification.
  • Specific flight test experience involving turboprop aircraft.
  • Current or previously held security clearance.

Travel Requirements

This position requires significant domestic and international travel. Candidates should be prepared for extended overseas deployments during the developmental and certification phases of the program.

While full-time employment is preferred, consulting arrangements may be evaluated for exceptionally qualified applicants.
