Summary
Airborne Tactical Advantage Company (ATAC), a division of Textron Systems, is seeking a Research & Development Manager for Tactical Aircraft to join their team in Point Mugu, CA. This role focuses on the research and evaluation of existing fighter and attack aircraft for potential fleet integration, reporting to the Director of Research & Development.
About the Role
The Research & Development Manager for Tactical Aircraft will be instrumental in identifying and evaluating fighter and attack aircraft for integration into ATAC's fleet. This position will support the Program Managers responsible for fleet upgrades and will contribute to developing winning technical solutions for future proposals. Key responsibilities include researching cost-effective aircraft integration, assisting with proposal development, and evaluating potential aircraft acquisitions and modernization upgrades to meet U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force requirements. The role also involves assisting with the integration of advanced avionics, sensors, and systems, and supporting test and evaluation planning and execution.
Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant Engineering field.

Test Pilot School graduate.
-
8+ years of industry and government experience in fighter aircraft mission and radar systems integration, test, and evaluation.

Former military service.
-
Active Top Secret clearance.

Ability to attain and maintain Special Access Program clearance requirements.

Completion of Defense Acquisition University coursework in Test & Evaluation, Systems Engineering, Logistics, Acquisition, Risk Management, and/or Intellectual Property & Data Rights.

Previously qualified DoD-trained Fighter Pilot.
-
Previously qualified 4-Ship/Division Flight Lead.
-
700 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) of any fixed-wing DOD-owned/operated fighter aircraft.

100 hours PIC at night.
-
Logged 50 hours PIC time in the past 12 months (any aircraft).

Logged 100 PIC hours in the previous 24 months (any aircraft).
-
Must have flown a tactical fighter aircraft in the previous 5 years.

Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.

FAA Single Engine, Commercial Certificate with Instrument Privileges.

Secret Security Clearance, US Citizen.

1000 hours PIC of a military tactical aircraft.

500 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) of any fixed-wing DOD-owned/operated fighter aircraft.

DoD military Instructor Pilot qualification.

NVG Instructor, CRM Instructor.

FAA CFI(I) Certificate.

Familiarization with DoD Commercial Air Services industry.

FAA Authorized Experimental Aircraft (AEA) privileges.

DoD Safety School or Board President Course graduate.

Squadron Command experience.
