A&P Mechanic

A leading aviation company is seeking a skilled and motivated A&P Mechanic to join its team in Independence, KS. This role is integral to maintaining the highest standards of airworthiness and contributing to the advancement of flight technology. The A&P Mechanic will be responsible for a variety of critical tasks involving aircraft airframes, engines, and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
The A&P Mechanic's duties encompass a broad range of mechanical and technical functions, including but not limited to:
- Diagnosing system malfunctions and performing comprehensive disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, reassembly, and adjustment procedures necessary to prepare aircraft for flight and customer delivery.
- Conducting thorough troubleshooting, inspections, repairs, and engine runs.
- Installing service bulletins and kits on airframes and engines as required.
- Assembling, troubleshooting, and repairing airframes, engines, and systems.
- Executing essential modification work on aircraft.
- Performing engine and propeller buildup, installation, and adjustments.
- Adhering strictly to the highest safety standards in all aspects of work.
- Maintaining accurate and complete aircraft records and completing return-to-service logbook entries.
- Performing engine maintenance on airworthy aircraft and conducting annual and continued airworthiness inspections.
- Providing training and mentorship to team members, assisting with certifications, leading significant projects, and driving initiatives focused on safety and quality improvement.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification is required.
- Possession of a valid A&P license is required.
- Previous aircraft maintenance experience (minimum 3 months) is considered beneficial.
- The ability to independently complete tasks without direct supervision and demonstrate leadership on projects is advantageous.
- A team-oriented, goal-driven, and action-oriented mindset is helpful for success in this role.
