Job Overview
Textron Systems' Airborne Tactical Advantage Company (ATAC) seeks a highly skilled and experienced Fighter Pilot to support critical U.S. Air Force training and readiness missions. This role involves piloting the Dassault Mirage F1 aircraft, providing invaluable adversary aggressor services for advanced fighter pilot training, including 5th Generation fighter operations and large force employment exercises. The successful candidate will fly from Luke Air Force Base or deployed locations as mission requirements dictate.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute flight operations in the ATAC fighter aircraft, performing as a surrogate adversary for U.S. Air Force aircrew and large force employment exercises.
- Maintain required certifications, including FAA instrument currency, First Class medical certification, adversary mission qualifications, and associated currencies for low-level flight, dynamic missions, and unlimited air combat maneuvering in high-G environments.
- Participate in pre-flight briefings, including mass briefings and adversary coordination sessions.
- Plan and execute complex adversary missions, followed by comprehensive flight debriefings and participation in mass debriefings.
- Adhere strictly to all training rules and pre-briefed maneuvering restrictions.
- Collect and disseminate valuable lessons learned to enhance training effectiveness.
- Complete all necessary ground training prior to flight operations.
- Deploy to various locations as required to support mission objectives.
- Potentially contribute to program management duties such as pilot scheduling, training, standards, evaluation, or safety, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Previous tactical fighter pilot training within the Department of Defense (DoD).
- Qualified as a 4-Ship/Division Flight Lead.
- Minimum of 700 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) in any fixed-wing DoD-owned/operated fighter aircraft.
- Minimum of 100 hours PIC at night.
- Logged at least 100 hours PIC time within the preceding 12 months.
- Possess a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Hold FAA Commercial Pilot privileges or Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with Airplane Single Engine Land privileges.
- Secret Security Clearance required.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Specific Air Force Contract Qualifications
- 1200 hours total PIC time in a tactical military aircraft.
- Must have been current in a tactical fighter aircraft within the last 5 years.
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate of USAF Weapons Instructor Course (WIC).
- USAF Adversary Qualification.
- Graduate of U.S. Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) or Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center (NAWDC).
- Graduate of a Test Pilot School (TPS).
- DoD Military Instructor Pilot qualification.
- Mission Commander qualification.
- Military or Civilian Flight Examiner qualification.
- Functional Check Flight Pilot qualification.
- NVG Instructor or Crew Resource Management (CRM) Instructor qualification.
- FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) with Instrument (I) rating.
- Familiarity with DoD Commercial Air Services industry.
- FAA Authorized Experimental Aircraft (AEA) privileges.
- Graduate of a DoD Safety School or Board President Course.
- Squadron Command experience.
- Demonstrated history of active fighter flying.
