Textron Systems - ATAC specializes in delivering tactical flight training and adversary aggressor services for US Navy, Marine, and Air Force pilots. As the sole organization certified to train the Navy's TOPGUN program, ATAC operates across eight sites and two continents, maintaining an unwavering commitment to providing the highest quality live training to Squadrons, Air Wings, and Battle Groups. Notably, ATAC earned the distinction of being the first civilian organization authorized to train the USAF's F-22 Raptors.
Position Overview
The Chief Pilot for Navy Operations plays a crucial role as a fighter pilot actively contributing to ATAC's mission success. This leadership position is responsible for overseeing and managing all flight operations within their designated area of responsibility (AOR). The Chief Pilot will directly interface with customers, ensuring seamless execution of training programs and fostering strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain operational readiness as a fighter pilot within ATAC.
- Provide comprehensive oversight of all pilots supporting Navy operations and ensuring adherence to established procedures.
- Collaborate closely with the ACE Chief Pilot to guarantee alignment of operations and contract compliance.
- Conduct daily quality assurance checks on flight schedules.
- Manage Navy pilot software accounts and applications, including ForeFlight, XM Weather, and Jeppesen 430/530 databases.
- Ensure timely updates of GPS software across all sites.
- Evaluate and implement new software and aviation aids to enhance Navy operations.
- Oversee the development, updates, and maintenance of all aircraft flight manuals and pilot checklists.
- Supervise and manage pilot read files.
- Oversee all aspects of pilot training, including monthly, new, and recurrent training programs.
- Manage and implement changes to standard pilot operating procedures.
- Track, analyze, and discuss pilot incidents, providing guidance and mentorship as needed.
- Prepare and conduct bi-annual Pilot Review Boards.
- Conduct all Kfir flight training and provide assistance with Hunter training as required.
- Oversee and update functional check flight profiles and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Vice President.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an operational pilot in tactical operations.
- 10 years of experience as a Military Fighter Pilot.
- 5 years of experience in a supervisory or management role.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Pilot Training experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- US Citizenship.
