Sun Country Flight Attendants are dedicated professionals who ensure the safety and security of our passengers while providing exceptional customer service. Compensation and Benefits:
- Monthly Guarantee: 72.5 flight hours at a rate of $21.53 per hour.
- Union Representation: Sun Country Flight Attendants are represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, with compensation outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.
- Uniform Allowance: Flight Attendants are responsible for purchasing their initial uniform and luggage (estimated cost of $700-$1000), with payroll deduction options available.
- Relocation: Relocation costs are the responsibility of the Flight Attendant.
- Work Schedule: Sun Country Airlines operates 365 days a year, requiring Flight Attendants to work various shifts including weekends, evenings, holidays, and "red-eye" hours. Monthly bidding for shifts is based on seniority.
- Reserve Status: "Reserve" (on call) Flight Attendants must be able to report to the airport within 2 hours of being notified of an assignment. They are scheduled with 10 days off per month and must be immediately available by phone on the remaining days.
- Line Holding Status: Line holding Flight Attendants are scheduled with a minimum of 13 days off per month.
Training:
- Flight Attendant Training Class: The training class is approximately 5 weeks long, onsite at our training facility in Minneapolis, MN. Travel and lodging accommodations during training are not provided by Sun Country Airlines. Successful completion of the training program is required to become a Flight Attendant.
- Stipend: Upon successful completion of the unpaid training class, a $1,000 learning stipend will be paid.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety, security, and comfort of passengers.
- Comply with all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and Sun Country Airlines policies.
- Conduct preflight safety checks of the cabin and emergency equipment.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations.
- Sell onboard liquor, food, and amenities.
- Prepare and serve meals and beverages according to service standards.
- Provide first aid for passenger illnesses or injuries.
- Diffuse situations with unruly or upset passengers and maintain order in the cabin.
- Perform all tasks in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all local, state, and federal safety and health regulations, programmatic standards, and internal policies.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications:
- Passport: A valid passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity is required prior to the start of training. Ability to travel in and out of the USA and Canada, as well as cities/countries served by Sun Country Airlines.
- Drug Testing: Successful completion of all drug testing in compliance with FAA regulations.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of two years of direct customer service experience.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer knowledge.
- Communication: Ability to read, write, understand, and clearly speak in English.
- Age: Must be 20 years or older at the end of initial training.
- Reach: Ability to reach 80 vertical inches (without shoes) to operate necessary equipment and systems.
- Kneeling: Ability to kneel to operate the aircraft door mechanism and perform CPR.
- Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependability: Excellent dependability and strong work ethic.
- Emergency Response: Ability to remain calm and respond to emergency situations including aircraft evacuations, in-flight fires, bomb threats, unusual situations, and turbulence.
- Emergency Management: Ability to manage emergencies and care for passengers under duress.
- Alertness: Constant alertness and ability to act in emergency situations.
- Altitude Tolerance: Ability to endure repetitive variances in altitude and cabin pressure.
- Relocation: Ability to relocate to within 2 hours of Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) while on "reserve" (on call) status.
- Travel: Ability to be away from home for up to six (6) nights in a row.
- Reserve Availability: Ability to work "reserve" (on call) status for extended periods.
- Seat Fit: Ability to fully fit into FA jump seats and secure the seat belt/shoulder harness assembly without modification.
- Vision: Sufficient vision to safely perform the essential functions of the position.
- Hearing: Sufficient hearing acuity to communicate with co-workers and passengers.
- Schedule Flexibility: Ability to meet the demands of a vigorous and varied schedule.
- Stamina: Stamina appropriate to the duty requirements.
- Appearance: Must present a neat and professional appearance, adhering to Sun Country Airlines uniform and appearance standards (no visible tattoos or body piercings).
Preferred Skills:
- Previous Flight Attendant experience.
Work Environment:
This job primarily operates in a pressurized aircraft for extended periods. The employee will be exposed to loud and distracting sounds and noise levels. While the cabin is pressurized, the employee will be exposed to recycled air. This position requires extensive travel, therefore, employees must be able to spend consecutive nights away from home and endure all climates.

- Mobility: Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands or fingers, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
- Other Activities: Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Lifting: Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must also be able to frequently push and pull carts with weights between 100-250 pounds.
- Door Operation: Ability to open and close the aircraft door in normal/emergency mode.
- Vision: Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
