SpaceX is seeking an experienced Pilot in Command (PIC) to join its Aviation team in Hawthorne, CA. This role involves operating various aircraft for domestic and international flights, ensuring passenger safety and comfort while adhering to strict aviation regulations.
About the Role

Serve as Pilot in Command for domestic and international flights, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and company standards.

Conduct pre-flight planning, including weather analysis, route optimization, and fuel management.

Prioritize the safety and comfort of passengers, including SpaceX executives and team members.

Maintain aircraft logs, complete post-flight reports, and adhere to all maintenance and operational protocols.

Collaborate effectively with crew, air traffic control, and ground support for mission execution.

Participate in ongoing training and proficiency checks to maintain aviation best practices.
Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency certificate.

A minimum of 4,000+ hours of total flight time.

Valid First Class Medical Certificate.

Current passport.

Ability to pass Air Force background checks for Cape Canaveral and Vandenberg.

Must be within a 2-4 hour travel distance to LAX.

Ability to work on an on-call basis.

Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, Refugee, or Asylee, or be eligible to obtain necessary U.S. Department of State authorizations to conform to U.S. Government export regulations.
Qualifications

Strong knowledge of FAR Part 91 operations and corporate aviation standards.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Boeing 737 Type Rating and/or Gulfstream G650 Type Rating are preferred.

A minimum of 500+ hours in the Gulfstream GV series is preferred.

Experience in high-end corporate or executive transport operations is preferred.

Familiarity with advanced avionics and flight management systems is preferred.
