Minimum Candidate Requirements and Qualifications
Successful applicants must meet the following strict criteria, ensuring compliance with both company standards and regulatory mandates for this demanding pilot role:
- Total Flight Time: The candidate must possess a minimum of 1,500 hours of total accrued flight time.
- Pilot-In-Command (PIC) Time: Applicants must document at least 100 hours of flight time serving as Pilot-in-Command.
- License Requirements: A valid EASA Commercial Pilot License (CPL) is mandatory, complete with Instrument Rating (IR), Multi-Engine (ME) endorsement, and a Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) certificate.
- License Authority: Only holders of an EASA-issued license will be considered for immediate placement.
- Medical Certification: A current and unrestricted Class 1 Medical Certificate is required.
- English Language Proficiency: Candidates must demonstrate ICAO English Language Proficiency (ELP) Level 4 or higher.
- Type Rating: A specific Type Rating is not required for application, as comprehensive professional training will be provided by Smartwings.

- Language Fluency: Fluency in the Czech language is a mandatory requirement for this operational position.
- Educational Background: Applicants must provide evidence of completed secondary school or university level education.
- Professional Record: Candidates must possess an impeccable professional history, demonstrating no prior involvement in aviation accidents or incidents.
- Security Clearance: Applicants are required to provide a clear record, free of any criminal history, and must successfully pass a comprehensive background check prior to employment.
- Health Requirements: COVID-19 vaccination is required, pending compliance with applicable local law and regulatory guidelines specific to operational territories.
