FlySafair is seeking a skilled and dedicated First Officer to join its flight operations team based in Johannesburg. This permanent, mid-level position involves ensuring flight safety, operating the aircraft, and supporting the Captain in all aspects of flight management, contributing to the airline's commitment to excellent customer service.
About the Role
The First Officer plays a critical role in the safe and efficient operation of commercial flights. Responsibilities include monitoring flight paths and aircraft systems, conducting pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight checks, and communicating effectively with all relevant parties. The First Officer will assist the Captain with operational and administrative duties, maintain compliance with aviation regulations and company policies, and uphold the company's standards of service and professionalism. In the event of the Captain's incapacitation, the First Officer will assume command.
Requirements

Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.

SACAA Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) - Essential.

SACAA ATPL - Preferred.

Class 1 SACAA Medical Certificate - Essential.

Type rated on Boeing aircraft - Advantageous.

Experience on Commercial Jets over 20 Tons - Advantageous.

Minimum of 1500 total flight hours, including 500 Multi-Turbine hours - Essential.

Multi Crew experience - Essential.

No existing medical conditions.

Willingness to sign applicable training bond(s).

No criminal record.

Willingness to undergo a drug and alcohol test.

Own transport and RSA Driver’s License.

SA Citizen with proof of identity.

Valid RSA Passport.

Willingness to work irregular hours on a roster.

Detailed knowledge and understanding of National Aviation regulations, including SACAA and ICAO.

Knowledge of Doc 8186 - Essential.
