Your Role as a SkyWest Flight Attendant
As a SkyWest Flight Attendant, your primary responsibility is ensuring the safety and comfort of all passengers onboard. You will play a vital role in creating a positive and productive environment by delivering exceptional customer service throughout each flight.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Safety First: Ensuring the safety and well-being of all passengers onboard the aircraft.
- Customer Service Excellence: Providing exceptional customer service while efficiently preparing, serving, and restocking in-flight beverages, meals, and snacks.
- Passenger Care: Greeting passengers, assisting with carry-on baggage stowage, and delivering clear onboard announcements.
- Effective Leadership: Providing effective leadership, direction, and assistance in both emergency and non-emergency situations.
- Calm Resolution: Calmly resolving passenger situations during flight, including addressing disorderly passengers and managing medical emergencies.
- Safety Compliance: Ensuring compliance with safety regulations by inspecting and safely operating aircraft cabin components, systems, and emergency equipment.
- Professionalism: Adhering to established procedures and performance standards while working independently.
Qualifications
- Minimum 21 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current, valid U.S. or foreign passport valid for at least 12 months following the application date, with applicable visas for travel between the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Bahamas.
- Excellent English communication skills for safety briefings, passenger interaction, and clear, factual report writing.
- Proficiency with basic functions of electronic devices and PEDs for audio/video systems, in-flight purchases, and other duties.
- Willingness to work varied shifts up to 16 hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to travel frequently and spend extended periods alone and unsupervised.
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
- Willingness to relocate to a designated SkyWest crew domicile upon successful completion of training.
Physical Requirements
- Height and weight within specified aircraft dimensions for safe operation, including jump seat harness fit, cabin aisle movement, and emergency exit operation. Height between 5'0" to 6'0" without shoes is required.
- Physical ability to perform tasks involving frequent walking, bending, reaching, lifting up to 45 pounds, and pushing/pulling up to 250 pounds.
- Corrected vision no worse than 20/40.
- Normal or corrected hearing range within 15-17kHz.
- Professional, neat, and clean appearance adhering to SkyWest's uniform and appearance guidelines, including limitations on hairstyles, piercings, visible tattoos, and the mandatory use of company-issued uniforms and face masks/coverings.
Compensation and Benefits
- Guaranteed 76 flight hours for new hire flight attendants upon successful completion of initial training.
- Starting pay of $28.86 per flight hour.
- Per diem of $2.25 per hour for on-duty hours away from the assigned domicile.
