Career Progression and Development

Candidate Requirements

Prospective First Officers must meet the following criteria:

• Possession of a valid Class 1 Medical Certificate, recognized or capable of validation by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS).
• Holds a valid Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL), Commercial Pilot Licence with Multi-Engine Aircraft Instrument Rating (CPL/MEIR) with frozen ATPL, or a Multi Pilot Licence (MPL), recognized or capable of validation by CAAS. Candidates holding foreign licences should verify their eligibility with CAAS.
• A minimum of 1500 total multi-crew flying hours on jet engine aircraft with a Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW) exceeding 20 tonnes. Exceptional candidates possessing between 700 and 1500 hours on these aircraft may be considered on merit, potentially undergoing an extended training program if successful.
• Proficiency in English, demonstrating ICAO English Level 5 or above, essential for inflight radio-telephony communications.
• A minimum height requirement of 1.58m to effectively perform on-board safety and emergency procedures.

Selection Process

The comprehensive selection process will be conducted in Singapore. Applicants will undergo various stages, including an online application, a computer aptitude test, an interview with senior management, a rigorous simulator assessment, and a thorough medical check-up.

Training and Employment

Where applicable, successful candidates will receive comprehensive training to acquire an Aircraft Type Rating. Successful candidates may be assigned to any fleet within the SIA Group, embarking on a rewarding career that includes extensive training and personal growth development with Singapore Airlines. Fleet assignments for successful candidates typically include the B747, B777, or B787 aircraft types. Previous flying experience will be taken into consideration for potential command upgrade pathways.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a comprehensive remuneration package, including:

• A fixed annual salary package equivalent to 13 months' pay.
• A profit-sharing bonus, contingent on the Company's financial performance.

• 32 days of annual leave.

Training Bond

Candidates who receive aircraft type rating training will be required to enter into a training bond.
