Scoot Airlines, a visionary low-cost carrier established in 2012, has rapidly evolved from its initial fleet of three Boeing 777-200 aircraft to a proud family of over 50 modern aircraft. The airline continually enhances the passenger travel experience through the integration of industry-leading Airbus A320 family aircraft and the wide-body Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Scoot prioritizes advanced onboard technologies for a more comfortable journey, characterized by quieter engines and reduced turbulence. The fleet will further expand in 2024 with the introduction of the Embraer E190-E2, enhancing regional service capabilities.

Role Overview

In collaboration with the Captain, the First Officer's primary responsibility is to ensure the safe, comfortable, and punctual operation of flights. The role involves contributing to the Scoot team's commitment to delivering the distinctive 'Scootitude' experience to all passengers.

First Officer Requirements

  • A minimum of 1500 total fixed-wing flight hours on aeroplanes with a Maximum Take-Off Mass (MTMA) of 5700kg or more.

Licensing and Language Proficiency

  • A Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) issued ICAO Commercial Pilot License (CPL(A)) or Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL(A)). Note: Holders of a foreign ATPL will be required to complete a license conversion process, which includes obtaining an instrument rating and passing a proficiency check with a minimum validity of six months.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in speaking and understanding English, meeting a minimum ICAO Level 4 standard.
  • Compliance with all vaccination requirements stipulated by CAAS.

Training and Commitment

  • Successful candidates may undergo training to acquire an Aircraft Type Rating for their assigned fleet, where applicable.
  • Candidates receiving type rating training will be expected to contribute a co-payment towards the training costs and will be required to enter into a training bond agreement.

Application Process

  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a series of online aptitude tests.
  • Following the online assessment, successful candidates will be invited to attend an Assessment Centre in Singapore, comprising a group exercise and an individual interview.
  • Candidates who successfully navigate the Assessment Centre will then attend a two-day Simulator Assessment and MMPI Assessment.
