A320 Type-Rated Captain - Career Opportunity in Singapore

Scoot is currently expanding its Airbus narrow-body operations in Singapore and invites applications from experienced A320 Type-Rated Captains. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong command capability, safety leadership, and operational discipline. The role offers fixed roster patterns for predictable work-life balance, competitive compensation, and a streamlined training process.

Position Responsibilities

As an A320 Type-Rated Captain, the incumbent will maintain command of the flight, upholding the highest personal and professional standards. Responsibilities include ensuring the safety, punctuality, and comfort of all flights. The Captain acts as a leader and team player, fostering the development of the crew to deliver the signature Scoot passenger experience.

A320 Technical Requirements

Candidates with jet experience must meet the following criteria:

  • Total flight time exceeding 3,500 hours on aeroplanes with a Maximum Take-Off Mass (MTOM) of 5,700kg or more.
  • Minimum of 1,000 Pilot-in-Command (PIC) hours on multi-engine jet, commercial airline transport aircraft certificated for multi-crew operation (excluding P1 U/S hours).

Licensing and Certification Requirements

  • Possession of a Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) issued ICAO ATPL. Foreign ATPL holders must complete license conversion, including an instrument rating and a proficiency check with at least 6 months of validity.
  • Minimum ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4.
  • Compliance with all vaccination requirements mandated by the CAAS.

Training and Assessment

Successful applicants may be required to undergo Aircraft Type Rating training, which includes a cost co-payment and the signing of a training bond. The recruitment process includes the following stages:

  • Completion of online aptitude tests for shortlisted candidates.
  • Participation in an Assessment Centre in Singapore, featuring group and individual interview stages.
  • Completion of a two-day Simulator Assessment and Personality Assessment for successful candidates.
