Air Steward Position – Scandinavian Airlines (SAS)
Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) invites applications for the exciting and challenging role of Air Steward, based at Copenhagen Airport Kastrup. The successful candidate will be a pivotal member of our cabin crew, responsible for ensuring the safety, punctuality, and exceptional service delivery on board our flights. This role demands a commitment to exceeding customer expectations and contributing to the seamless travel experience of Scandinavia's most frequent flyers. SAS operates a modern fleet of aircraft and utilizes a well-established service concept for both intercontinental and European routes.
Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the Air Steward will be focused on long-haul flights. This includes fostering a positive and safe environment for passengers and colleagues alike. Key duties involve organizing, supervising, and structuring galley operations, as well as briefing colleagues on the flight's menu and wine service. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of SAS service concepts and the ability to clearly and effectively communicate this information to colleagues. Furthermore, the role requires proactive participation in maintaining a positive onboard atmosphere and resolving challenges calmly and efficiently. Proactive contribution to safety and punctuality, both onboard and in service planning, is also crucial. The position demands the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining excellent coordination and a broad overview.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Prior experience as Cabin Crew is highly desirable.
- Documented experience in a restaurant environment is advantageous.
- Minimum of two years' work experience; sales experience is a plus.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
- Fluency in a Scandinavian language is preferred.
- Demonstrated teamwork skills and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Proven ability to maintain organization and punctuality, coupled with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment and maintain a high stress tolerance.
- Solution-oriented approach with the ability to identify opportunities and improvise.
- Natural aptitude for teamwork and prioritization of safety.

Education:
- Formal training or experience as a chef or waiter is considered an advantage.
- Completion of secondary education or equivalent is required.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
- Fluency in a Scandinavian language is preferred.
Physical Requirements and Legal Compliance:
- Excellent physical and mental health; corrected vision of +/- 0.7 or better and normal color vision are required.
- Must be medically cleared for certification, including drug and alcohol screening.
- Strong swimming skills are essential.
- Minimum age: 18 years.
- Height requirement: 160 cm - 190 cm.
- Ability to adhere to uniform regulations.
- Possession of a valid EU passport enabling unrestricted worldwide travel.
- Eligibility for permanent residency and employment in Denmark.
- Willingness to provide a criminal record check (for all countries of residence) and undergo a five-year background check upon employment.
For Experienced Cabin Crew:
- Valid EASA Attestation (minimum 12 months continuous flight experience within the last four years) is required.
- Valid EASA Cabin Crew Medical Certificate is required.
