Chief Flight Instructor takes an important role in supporting NPCT in SAS Link Crew Training execution, development, standardisation and oversight. The position is combination of approximately 60% flying/flight training and 40% management/office duties.

The position will be situated in either Stockholm or Copenhagen

Purpose

SAS Link Training department needs a new permanent role, to support

  • the aggressive AOC ramp-up, and
  • the incre ased training demand in 2023 and forward, when more training is being taken in-house (as per the new 2022 pilot CBA)

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform line flying, LIFUS, Standards Checks, Simulator training and checking and related ground training, as deemed necessary by the NPCT
  • Support NPCT in all operational matters related to the operation of the SAS Link Training department, including participating with the meetings deemed relevant by the NPCT;
  • Evaluate and Standardize Flight and Ground Instructors and Examiners, internal and external, together with and under the direction of the NPCT, and in liaison with CCTM where relevant (e.g. joint training with Cabin Crew);
  • Prepare, execute, coordinate and monitor, together with NPCT and when relevant, with contracted service providers as well as CCTM, the periodical flight crew training programs
  • Conduct regular evaluation of ground training and learning material (including CBT’s), and propose and propose and execute improvement initiatives, as necessary, with the relevant steakholder;
  • Monitor proficiency standards of all flight crew with particular emphasis on safety and track and report deficiencies / lapses in pilot performance to NPCT;
  • Verify valid Authority Certification, and where required quality control, for relevant FSTD’s and other training devices, owned or sub-contracted.
  • Make suggestions to improve all training programs, training methods and material, training standards or other aspects of the OM-D
  • Manage and analyse feedback reports regarding trainees as well as instructors in order to support NPCT in oversight tasks
  • Participate in training department audits and related compliance work together with the NPCT

Competences and skills

  • Competent in training execution and development, both hands-on as an instructor as well as in related management and leadership duties
  • Competent and responsible as a Flight Captain
  • Contributing team player both in the cockpit as well as in the office environment
  • Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices
  • Knowledge of EASA regulations and any associated requirements and procedures
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the need for, and content of, the relevant parts of the Operations Manual
  • Thorough knowledge of Company Flight and Cabin Crew training concept
  • Leadership and managerial responsibility and scope on management level

Relevant IT skills, e.g. MS Office, Teams

Other of Importance

We are looking for someone with the following experience and certifications:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in aviation sector f light training,
  • Relevant flight instruction and/or examiner experience in a comparable organization
  • Five years CS-25 Command experience
  • Ground instruction qualifications and experiene, e.g. TKI or CRMT is an asset
  • ATPL(A)
  • Valid CS-25 type rating, preferably EMB170
  • Holds or has held SFI/TRI(A)
  • To hold, or to have held a SFE/TRE(A) is an asset
