Flight Attendant
A Flight Attendant with Republic Airways ensures the safety and comfort of passengers, adhering strictly to FAA and Inflight guidelines. This role demands a commitment to providing a safe and comfortable onboard experience while maintaining constant attention to guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs all regulatory and assigned cabin duties.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of emergency procedures and equipment, operating emergency exits and aircraft equipment, potentially using force up to 70 pounds.
- Provides food and beverage service, requiring pushing and pulling carts weighing over 250 pounds.
- Assists passengers with carry-on baggage, lifting up to 35 pounds.
- Maintains a neat and orderly cabin environment.
- Contributes to on-time operations by collaborating with crewmembers.
- Performs inflight sales and promotional duties.
- Assists other customer service staff as needed.
- Maintains reliable and prompt attendance.
- Presents a professional image, adhering to the uniform dress code.
- Complies with the associate Rules of Conduct.
- Maintains current Inflight guides and manuals.
- Fosters the company’s core values and culture.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of two years of customer service experience.
- Must be 20 years of age by the first interview date.
- Possesses polished interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and a customer-oriented mindset.
- Willing to serve alcoholic beverages and handle peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork.
- Able to work with animals and around other allergens and products.
- Must have a wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater.
- Must be able to sit in the Flight Attendant jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without extender.
- Must not have multiple piercings visible while in uniform.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Able to effectively present information to management, crew, passengers, and the general public.
- Able to communicate effectively in English, including shouting verbal commands during emergencies.
- Must be willing to work in a time-sensitive environment and handle stress effectively.
- Capable of interpreting instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Must remain calm and react quickly in emergency situations.
- Able to process information quickly and react positively during unexpected or serious situations.
- Capable of controlling personal and emotional responses under high stress.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Additional years of customer service experience, preferably in aviation.
- Previous Flight Attendant experience.
Physical Demands:
- Must possess the physical strength to operate emergency equipment, using force up to 70 pounds.
- Capable of lifting objects above shoulders up to 35 pounds.
- Able to push and pull carts weighing over 250 pounds.
- Able to walk and stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel.
- Able to see clearly at 20 feet with corrective lenses or contacts.
- Able to clearly hear verbal communications.
- Must be able to move freely and quickly in a confined environment.
- Able to work extended duty periods on sequential days.
Work Environment:
- Able and willing to work in a culturally diverse atmosphere and interact professionally with passengers and crew under stressful conditions.
- The ability to accommodate customers’ special needs and disabilities.
- Willing and able to work varied schedules, including early mornings, nights, overnights, and weekends.
Travel Requirements:
Travel is required up to 100% of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnights. Willing to relocate based on the company's operational needs.
