Flight Attendant
Republic Airways is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Flight Attendant to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers while adhering to FAA and Inflight guidelines. The Flight Attendant will provide a safe and comfortable onboard experience with constant attention to guests, contributing to a reliable and on-time operation.
Essential Duties:
- Performs all regulatory and assigned cabin duties.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of emergency procedures and equipment; operates emergency exits and aircraft equipment, potentially requiring movements and force up to 70 pounds.
- Provides food and beverage service, which includes pushing and pulling carts weighing over 250 pounds.
- Assists passengers with stowing carry-on baggage up to 35 pounds.
- Maintains a neat and orderly cabin environment.
- Collaborates with crewmembers to meet report times, departure times, and minimum turn times.
- Performs inflight sales and promotional duties.
- Assists other Customer Service staff with passenger handling.
- Maintains reliable and prompt attendance.
- Presents a professional image in conduct and appearance, adhering to the company uniform dress code.
- Complies with associate Rules of Conduct.
- Maintains currency of Inflight guides and manuals.
- Fosters the company’s core values and culture.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Possesses polished interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and customer-oriented mindset.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Effectively presents information to and responds to questions from management, crew, passengers, and the general public.
- Speaks and understands English, including shouted verbal commands during emergency situations.
- Willing to work in a time-sensitive environment and handle stress associated with deadlines and unexpected changes.
- Capable of interpreting instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Remains calm, thinks, and reacts quickly in emergency situations (medical emergencies, decompression, evacuations, fires, security threats, disturbances, turbulence, etc.).
- Makes day-to-day decisions to support operations.
- Processes information quickly and reacts positively during unexpected/serious situations.
- Controls personal and emotional responses and acts appropriately under high stress.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of two years of customer service experience.
- Must be 20 years of age by the date of the first interview.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Additional years of customer service experience, preferably in aviation.
- Previous Flight Attendant experience.
Other Requirements:
- Willing to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Able and willing to serve and handle peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork.
- Able to work with animals and around other allergens and products.
- Complies with Republic’s Flight Attendant Style Guide regarding tattoos and piercings.
- Must have a wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater.
- Able to sit in the Flight Attendant jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without modification.
Physical Demands:
- Physical strength to reach and operate emergency equipment and exits (up to 70 pounds).
- Capable of lifting objects above shoulders (up to 35 pounds).
- Able to push and pull carts weighing over 250 pounds.
- Able to walk and stand for extended periods, sometimes with turbulence.
- Able to stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel.
- Able to see clearly at 20 feet or more with corrective lenses or contacts.
- Able to hear verbal communications clearly in person and over airplane communication systems.
- Able to move about aircraft and perform required functions freely, effectively, and quickly in a confined environment.
- Able to work extended duty periods on sequential days.
Work Environment:
- Able and willing to work in a culturally diverse atmosphere and interact professionally with passengers and crew under stressful conditions.
- The ability to accommodate customers’ special needs/disabilities.
- Willing and able to work for extended periods of time, including early mornings, nights, overnights, and weekends.
Travel Requirements:
- Travel up to 100% of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnights.
- Willing to relocate based on the company’s operational needs.
