Flight Attendant
An exciting opportunity exists to join a leading regional airline as a Flight Attendant. In this role, the individual will be responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers while adhering to FAA and Inflight guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs all regulatory and assigned cabin duties, providing a safe and comfortable onboard experience while attending to passenger needs.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of emergency procedures and equipment; operates emergency exits and aircraft equipment, requiring physical strength up to 70 pounds.
- Provides food and beverage service, involving the pushing and pulling of carts weighing over 250 pounds.
- Assists passengers with carry-on baggage, lifting up to 35 pounds.
- Maintains a clean and organized cabin environment.
- Collaborates with crewmembers to ensure on-time departures and efficient operations.
- Performs inflight sales and promotional activities as assigned.
- Provides assistance to other customer service staff as needed.
- Maintains reliable and punctual attendance.
- Presents a professional image in conduct and appearance, adhering to uniform standards.
- Complies with all company rules of conduct and maintains current knowledge of inflight guides and manuals.
- Fosters the company's core values and culture.
- Performs additional duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of customer service experience.
- Must be 20 years of age by the date of the first interview.
- Possesses strong interpersonal skills with a positive, customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Ability to effectively communicate with management, crew, passengers, and the public.
- Must be able to speak and understand English, including clear communication during emergency situations.
- Ability to work effectively in a time-sensitive environment and manage stress associated with deadlines and unexpected changes.
- Capable of interpreting instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to remain calm and react quickly in emergency situations.
- Capable of making sound decisions and processing information quickly in unexpected situations.
- Ability to control personal and emotional responses under high stress.
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
- Additional years of customer service experience, ideally in aviation.
- Previous Flight Attendant experience.
Other Requirements:
- Must be willing to serve alcoholic beverages and handle peanuts, shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork.
- Ability to work with animals and around allergens and various products.
- Compliance with the company's Flight Attendant Style Guide regarding tattoos and piercings.
- Must have a wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater.
- Ability to sit in the Flight Attendant jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without modifications.
- Must be willing to relocate based on the Company’s operational needs.
Physical Demands:
- Must possess the physical strength to operate emergency equipment and exits, using up to 70 pounds of force.
- Capable of lifting objects above shoulders, up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to push and pull carts weighing over 250 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, potentially with turbulence.
- Must be able to stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel.
- Able to see clearly at 20 feet or more with corrective lenses.
- Able to hear verbal communications in person and over airplane communication systems.
- Must be able to move freely within the aircraft.
- Able to work extended duty periods on sequential days.
Work Environment:
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse atmosphere and professionally interact with passengers and crew under stressful conditions.
- Ability to accommodate customers’ special needs/disabilities.
- Willingness to work varied schedules, including early mornings, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
Travel Requirements:
- Travel up to 100% of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnights.
