Flight Attendant
A leading regional airline seeks a dedicated and safety-conscious Flight Attendant to ensure the well-being and comfort of passengers while adhering to FAA and Inflight guidelines. The Flight Attendant performs all regulatory and assigned cabin duties, providing a safe and comfortable onboard experience with constant attention to guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains thorough knowledge of all emergency procedures and operates emergency equipment, including emergency exits, with necessary movements and force up to 70 pounds.
- Provides food and beverage service, managing movable carts weighing over 250 pounds.
- Assists passengers with stowing carry-on baggage weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Maintains a neat and orderly cabin environment.
- Contributes to reliable on-time operations by collaborating with crew members to meet report times, departure times, and minimum turn times.
- Performs inflight sales and promotional duties as assigned.
- Assists other Customer Service staff with passenger handling or other duties as needed.
- Maintains reliable and prompt attendance in accordance with company policies.
- Presents a professional image in conduct and appearance, adhering to the company uniform dress code.
- Complies with associate Rules of Conduct as outlined in applicable manuals.
- Maintains currency of Inflight guides and manuals.
- Fosters the company's core values and culture within the work environment.
- Performs additional duties as assigned or required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Polished interpersonal skills with a positive, customer-oriented attitude.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, crew, passengers, and the general public.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, including issuing verbal commands during emergency situations.
- Willingness to work in a time-sensitive environment and effectively manage stress.
- Capability of interpreting instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to remain calm, think, and react quickly in emergency situations (medical emergencies, aircraft decompression, emergency evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, turbulence, etc.).
- Capable of controlling personal and emotional responses and acting appropriately under high levels of stress.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of two years of customer service experience.
- Must be 20 years of age by the date of the first interview.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Additional years of customer service experience, preferably in an aviation environment.
- Previous Flight Attendant experience.
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Ability to serve and handle peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork.
- Ability to work with animals and around other allergens and products.
- Compliance with the company's Flight Attendant Style Guide regarding tattoos and piercings.
- Wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater.
- Ability to sit in the Flight Attendant jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without extender or other modification.
Physical Demands:
- Physical strength to operate emergency equipment using necessary movements and force up to 70 pounds.
- Ability to lift objects above shoulders up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to push and pull movable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, sometimes with aircraft turbulence.
- Ability to stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel.
- Clear vision at 20 feet or more with corrective lenses or contacts.
- Ability to hear verbal communications in person and over airplane communication systems.
- Ability to move about aircraft and perform required functions freely, effectively, and quickly in a confined environment.
- Ability to work extended duty periods on sequential days.
Work Environment:
- Ability and willingness to work in a culturally diverse atmosphere and professionally interact with passengers and crew under stressful conditions.
- Ability to accommodate customers’ special needs/disabilities.
- Willingness and ability to work for extended periods of time as well as a varied schedule, including early mornings, nights, overnights, and weekends.
Travel Requirements:
- Travel up to 100% of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnights.
- Willingness to relocate based on the company’s operational needs.
