Flight Attendant
This role is responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of all passengers, adhering to FAA and Inflight guidelines. The Flight Attendant performs essential cabin duties while providing a secure and pleasant onboard experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute all regulatory and assigned cabin duties with constant attention to passenger needs, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all emergency procedures and the operation of all emergency equipment onboard the aircraft. This includes operating emergency exits and aircraft equipment, requiring movements and force up to 70 pounds.
- Serve food and beverages to passengers, involving the pushing and pulling of carts weighing over 250 pounds.
- Assist passengers with stowing carry-on baggage, up to 35 pounds.
- Maintain a neat and orderly cabin environment.
- Collaborate with crew members to ensure reliable and on-time operation, adhering to all report times, departure times, and minimum turn times.
- Perform inflight sales and promotional duties as assigned.
- Support other Customer Service staff with passenger handling and other duties.
- Maintain reliable and prompt attendance in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Present a professional image in conduct and appearance, adhering to the company uniform dress code.
- Comply with all associate Rules of Conduct as outlined in applicable manuals.
- Maintain current Inflight guides and manuals.
- Embody the company's core values and culture within the work environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned or required.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED, plus a minimum of two years of customer service experience.
- Must be at least 20 years of age by the date of the initial interview.
- Polished interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and a strong customer-oriented mindset.
- Must be willing to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Ability to serve and handle peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork.
- Ability to work with animals and around various allergens and products.
- Tattoos must adhere to the company’s Flight Attendant Style Guide: not permitted on the head, face, neck, chest, hands, or fingers. Visible tattoos on arms, wrists, legs, ankles, and feet must be smaller than 2" x 3.25" or fully covered.
- A wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater to operate all necessary equipment on the aircraft.
- Ability to sit in the Flight Attendant jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without modifications, the lap belt measurement is 50 inches when fastened and the shoulder harness measurement is 40 inches when fastened.
- Must not have multiple visible piercings while in uniform.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions from management, crew, passengers, and the public.
- Proficient in speaking and understanding English, including shouted verbal commands in emergency situations.
- Ability to work in a time-sensitive environment, handle stress, meet deadlines, and manage unexpected changes.
- Capability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to remain calm and react quickly in emergency situations such as medical emergencies, aircraft decompression, emergency evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, and turbulence.
- Ability to make sound decisions in daily operations.
- Capable of processing information quickly and reacting positively during unexpected or serious situations.
- Ability to control personal and emotional responses under high levels of stress.
- Physical strength to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits using necessary movements and force up to 70 pounds.
- Ability to lift objects above shoulders up to 35 pounds.
- Able to push and pull carts weighing over 250 pounds.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, sometimes in turbulent conditions.
- Ability to stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel.
- Ability to see clearly at 20 feet or more with corrective lenses or contacts.
- Ability to clearly hear verbal communications in person and over aircraft communication systems.
- Ability to move about the aircraft and perform required functions effectively and quickly in a confined environment.
- Ability to work extended duty periods on sequential days.
- Willingness to work in a culturally diverse atmosphere, professionally interact with passengers and crew under stressful conditions, and accommodate customer special needs and disabilities.
- Willingness and ability to work for extended periods of time as well as a varied schedule, including early mornings, nights, overnights, and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional years of customer service experience, particularly in aviation.
- Previous experience as a Flight Attendant.
Travel Requirements:
- Travel up to 100% of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays and overnight. Willing to relocate based on the Company’s operational needs.
