Flight Attendant

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Execute all regulatory and assigned cabin duties with unwavering attention to passenger well-being, fostering a secure and pleasant environment.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of all emergency procedures and the operation of emergency equipment, including the ability to operate exits and equipment, exerting up to 70 pounds of force.
  • Provide food and beverage service to passengers, which includes maneuvering carts weighing over 250 pounds.
  • Assist passengers in the stowage of carry-on baggage, lifting up to 35 pounds.
  • Maintain a tidy and well-organized cabin environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with crew members to ensure on-time departures and adherence to minimum turn times, contributing to a reliable operation.
  • Perform inflight sales and promotional activities as assigned.
  • Provide assistance to other Customer Service staff as needed with passenger care or other duties.
  • Maintain consistent and punctual attendance in accordance with company policies.
  • Uphold a professional demeanor in conduct and appearance, adhering to the company's uniform standards.
  • Comply with all associate rules of conduct as outlined in relevant manuals.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Inflight guides and manuals.
  • Promote the company's core values and culture within the workplace.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required, complemented by at least two years of customer service experience.
  • Must be a minimum of 20 years old by the date of the initial interview.
  • Possess exceptional interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and a customer-focused approach.
  • Must be willing to serve alcoholic beverages.
  • Must be capable and willing to serve and handle peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork.
  • Must be able to work with animals and around other allergens and products.
  • Must comply with the company's tattoo policy as outlined in the Flight Attendant Style Guide. Tattoos are not permitted on the head, face, neck, chest, hands, or fingers. Visible tattoos are permitted on the arms, wrists, legs, ankles, and feet if less than 2” x 3.25”; otherwise, they must be fully covered by an approved method.
  • Must possess a wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater.
  • Must be able to sit in the Flight Attendant jump seat with the seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without any modifications. (Lap belt measurement is 50 inches when fastened, and the shoulder harness measurement is 40 inches when fastened).
  • Must not have multiple visible piercings while in uniform.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and analyze technical procedures and governmental regulations.
  • Proficiency in presenting information and responding to inquiries from management, crew, passengers, and the public.
  • Must be able to speak and be clearly understood in English, including verbal commands in emergency situations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a time-sensitive environment while handling stress associated with deadlines and changes.
  • Must be able to comprehend and implement instructions provided in various formats (written, oral, diagram, or schedule).
  • Must remain composed, think clearly, and react quickly in emergency situations, including medical emergencies, decompression, evacuations, fires, security threats, disturbances, and turbulence.
  • Capable of making sound decisions to support daily operations, often requiring structured thought.
  • Demonstrated ability to process information rapidly and react positively during unexpected and/or serious situations.
  • Ability to control personal emotional responses and act appropriately under high stress.
  • Must possess the physical capability to operate all emergency equipment using the required movements and exerting force up to 70 pounds.
  • Ability to lift objects above shoulders weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to push and pull carts weighing over 250 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, sometimes during turbulence.
  • Must be able to stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel.
  • Able to see clearly at 20 feet or more with corrective lenses or contacts.
  • Ability to clearly hear verbal communication in person and over aircraft communication systems, with ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
  • Must be able to move freely and perform all required functions quickly in a confined aircraft environment.
  • Ability to work extended duty periods on sequential days.
  • Must be willing to work in a culturally diverse environment and interact professionally with passengers and crew under stressful conditions.
  • Demonstrated ability to accommodate customers with special needs and disabilities.
  • Must be willing and able to work a varied schedule, including early mornings, nights, overnights, and weekends.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 100% of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight. Must also be willing to relocate based on the company’s operational needs.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Additional years of customer service experience, particularly within an aviation setting.
  • Prior Flight Attendant experience is highly valued.
