Flight Attendant
Aviation professionals are invited to apply for the position of Flight Attendant. This role is critical to ensuring the safety and comfort of all passengers while adhering to FAA and Inflight guidelines. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of duties with a focus on delivering a safe, comfortable, and exceptional onboard experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute all regulatory and assigned cabin duties, maintaining consistent attention to passenger needs and safety.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of emergency procedures and the operation of all onboard emergency equipment, including emergency exits and aircraft systems, requiring the ability to exert up to 70 pounds of force.
- Provide food and beverage service to passengers, which may involve pushing and pulling heavy carts exceeding 250 pounds.
- Assist passengers with stowing carry-on baggage, which may require lifting up to 35 pounds.
- Maintain a clean and orderly cabin environment throughout the flight.
- Collaborate with crew members to ensure reliable and on-time operations by adhering to all report, departure, and minimum turn times.
- Perform inflight sales and promotional activities as assigned.
- Assist other customer service staff with passenger handling and other duties as required.
- Maintain consistent and punctual attendance in accordance with company policies.
- Present a professional demeanor and appearance, including compliance with the company uniform dress code.
- Adhere to all associate Rules of Conduct as outlined in applicable manuals.
- Maintain current knowledge of all Inflight guides and manuals.
- Promote and uphold the company’s core values and culture in the workplace.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned or required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent, combined with a minimum of two years of customer service experience.
- Must be at least 20 years of age by the first interview date.
- Demonstrated polished interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and a strong customer-centric approach.
- Must be willing to serve alcoholic beverages and handle food items including peanuts, shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork.
- Must be comfortable working around animals and other allergens.
- Must adhere to the company's tattoo and piercing policies.
- Must have a wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater for operating all necessary aircraft equipment safely.
- Must be able to sit in the Flight Attendant jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without modifications, with a lap belt measurement of 50 inches when fastened and a shoulder harness measurement of 40 inches when fastened.
- Ability to read, interpret and analyze technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Excellent ability to present information and effectively respond to inquiries from management, crew, passengers, and the public.
- Proficiency in English, including the ability to speak and be understood, and issue verbal commands during emergency situations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage stress associated with deadlines and unexpected situations.
- Capability to interpret various instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats.
- Ability to remain calm and react quickly in emergency situations including but not limited to medical events, decompression, emergency evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, and turbulence.
- Strong decision-making skills to support operations, requiring thoughtful and structured judgments.
- Ability to quickly process information and react positively in unexpected and/or serious situations.
- Capacity to control personal responses and act appropriately under high levels of stress.
- Physical strength to reach and operate emergency equipment using up to 70 pounds of force.
- Capability to lift objects above the shoulders, up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to push and pull heavy carts exceeding 250 pounds.
- Capacity to walk and stand for extended periods, potentially with aircraft turbulence.
- Must be able to stoop, crouch, squat, climb and kneel.
- Vision clarity at 20 feet or more, with corrective lenses or contacts if needed.
- Ability to clearly hear verbal communications in person and over airplane communication systems, amidst ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
- Must be able to sit in an assigned jump seat without modifications.
- Must be capable of moving freely, effectively and quickly within confined aircraft environments.
- Willingness to work extended duty periods on sequential days.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional years of customer service experience, ideally within an aviation context.
- Previous experience as a Flight Attendant.
Work Environment:
- Ability and willingness to work in a culturally diverse setting and engage professionally with passengers and crew under pressure.
- Ability to accommodate customers with special needs and disabilities.
- Willingness and availability to work varied schedules, including early mornings, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
Travel Requirements:
- Travel up to 100% of the time is required, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnights. Willingness to relocate based on the company's operational needs is required.
