Flight Attendant
Aviation professionals are sought for the position of Flight Attendant, responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers while adhering to all FAA and Inflight guidelines. This role requires a dedicated individual committed to providing a positive and secure onboard experience.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Execute all regulatory and assigned cabin duties with unwavering attention to passenger well-being, fostering a safe and comfortable environment.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all emergency procedures and the operation of emergency equipment onboard the aircraft; this includes the ability to operate emergency exits and aircraft equipment requiring up to 70 pounds of force.
- Provide food and beverage service to passengers, which involves handling movable carts weighing over 250 pounds.
- Assist passengers with stowing carry-on baggage weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Maintain a neat and orderly cabin environment.
- Collaborate with crewmembers to ensure on-time departures and adherence to minimum turn times.
- Perform inflight sales and promotional activities as assigned.
- Provide assistance to other Customer Service personnel with passenger handling and related duties.
- Adhere to Company policies and procedures regarding reliable and prompt attendance.
- Maintain a professional image in conduct and appearance, adhering to the Company uniform standards.
- Comply with all associate Rules of Conduct as outlined in applicable manuals.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all Inflight guides and manuals.
- Promote the Company’s core values and culture in the workplace.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent, coupled with a minimum of two years of customer service experience.
- Must be at least 20 years of age by the date of the first interview.
- Polished interpersonal skills with a positive, customer-focused mindset.
- Must be willing to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Must be able and willing to serve and handle peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork.
- Capable of working with animals and around common allergens.
- Must adhere to the company's style guide regarding visible tattoos and piercings.
- A wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater is required to safely operate all aircraft equipment.
- Must be able to fit in the Flight Attendant jump seat, using the standard seatbelt and shoulder harness without modification.
- Demonstrated ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from management, crew, passengers, and the public.
- Proficient in speaking and understanding English, including the use of verbal commands during emergency situations.
- Ability to work in a time-sensitive environment and effectively manage stress associated with deadlines and unexpected change.
- Capable of interpreting various instructions presented in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Must remain calm and react quickly in emergency situations such as medical events, aircraft decompression, evacuations, fires, security threats, and turbulence.
- Capable of making sound decisions to support operations and reacting positively in unexpected or critical situations.
- Ability to control personal responses and act appropriately under high levels of stress.
- Physical strength to reach and operate emergency equipment using up to 70 pounds of force.
- Capable of lifting up to 35 pounds above the shoulders.
- Able to push and pull carts weighing over 250 pounds.
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods, sometimes in turbulent conditions.
- Must be able to stoop, crouch, squat, climb and kneel.
- Must have clear vision at 20 feet or more, with corrective lenses or contacts.
- Must be able to clearly hear verbal communication in person and over airplane communication systems.
- Must be able to move freely within the confined aircraft environment and execute all necessary functions.
- Must be capable of working extended duty periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional years of customer service experience, ideally in an aviation setting.
- Prior experience as a Flight Attendant.
Work Environment:
- Ability and willingness to work in a diverse environment and interact professionally with passengers and crew under stress.
- The ability to accommodate passengers’ special needs/disabilities.
- Willing and able to work a varied schedule, including early mornings, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
- Travel is required up to 100% of the time, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Willingness to relocate based on the Company’s operational needs.
