Flight Attendant
Position Summary:
The Flight Attendant is responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of all passengers, adhering strictly to FAA and Inflight guidelines. This role demands a commitment to providing a secure and pleasant onboard experience while maintaining a high standard of professionalism.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform all regulatory and assigned cabin duties with diligence, prioritizing passenger safety and comfort.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of emergency procedures and the operation of all emergency equipment on board the aircraft, including the ability to operate emergency exits and equipment, requiring movements and force up to 70 pounds.
- Serve food and beverages to passengers, which includes handling and maneuvering carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Assist passengers with stowing carry-on baggage, including lifting items weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Maintain a neat and well-organized cabin environment.
- Collaborate with crew members to ensure punctual operations, meeting report, departure, and minimum turn times.
- Execute inflight sales and promotional activities as assigned.
- Provide assistance to other Customer Service staff with passenger handling and other duties.
- Maintain consistent and reliable attendance, following all Company policies and procedures.
- Present a professional image in conduct and appearance, strictly adhering to the Company uniform dress code.
- Comply with all associate Rules of Conduct as outlined in relevant manuals.
- Maintain current Inflight guides and manuals.
- Contribute positively to the Company's core values and culture.
- Undertake additional duties as directed.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of two years of customer service experience.
- Must be at least 20 years of age by the date of the first interview.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, displaying a positive attitude and a customer-focused approach.
- Willingness to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Ability to serve and handle peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork.
- Comfortable working around animals and other allergens.
- Compliance with the Company's tattoo policy: tattoos are not permitted on the head, face, neck, chest, hands, or fingers; visible tattoos on arms, wrists, legs, ankles, and feet must be less than 2" x 3.25" or fully covered by an approved method.
- Wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater.
- Ability to sit in the Flight Attendant jump seat with the seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without modifications.
- Must not have multiple visible piercings while in uniform.
- Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical procedures and government regulations.
- Ability to effectively communicate with management, crew, passengers, and the general public, including the ability to speak and be understood in English, even in emergency situations.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage stress effectively while meeting deadlines and handling unexpected changes.
- Capability to interpret and follow instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats.
- Ability to remain composed and react quickly in all types of emergencies.
- Capable of making day-to-day operational decisions while also handling unexpected and serious situations.
- Ability to manage personal emotional responses appropriately under high levels of stress.
- Physical strength and ability to reach and operate emergency equipment, using up to 70 pounds of force.
- Capable of lifting objects above the shoulders, up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to push and pull moveable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Able to walk and stand for extended periods, sometimes with aircraft turbulence.
- Able to stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel.
- Visual acuity of 20 feet or more with corrective lenses or contacts.
- Ability to hear verbal communications in person and over airplane communication systems despite ambient noise.
- Must be able to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without any modifications.
- Able to move freely about the aircraft, performing all required duties in a confined environment.
- Capable of working extended duty periods on consecutive days.
- Ability and willingness to work in a culturally diverse environment.
- Ability to accommodate customers' special needs/disabilities.
- Willingness to work a varied schedule, including early mornings, nights, overnights, and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional years of customer service experience, ideally in aviation.
- Previous Flight Attendant experience.
Travel Requirements:
- Up to 100% travel, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnights.
- Willingness to relocate based on Company operational needs.
