Flight Attendant
Overview
Republic Airways, a leading regional airline in North America, seeks a dedicated and professional Flight Attendant to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers.
Position Purpose
The Flight Attendant is responsible for providing a safe and enjoyable onboard experience for passengers, adhering to all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Inflight guidelines.
Essential Duties
- Meticulously execute all regulatory and assigned cabin duties while prioritizing passenger well-being.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of emergency procedures and the operation of all emergency equipment onboard the aircraft. Safely operate emergency exits and aircraft equipment, utilizing force up to and including 70 pounds.
- Provide passengers with food and beverage service, requiring the ability to push and pull moveable carts exceeding 250 pounds.
- Assist passengers in stowing carry-on baggage weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Maintain a pristine and organized cabin environment.
- Contribute to a reliable and punctual operation by collaborating with other crew members to meet all report times, departure times, and minimum turn times.
- Execute inflight sales and promotional duties as assigned.
- Assist other Customer Service staff as needed with passenger handling or other tasks.
- Maintain consistent and punctual attendance according to Company policies and procedures.
- Present a professional demeanor and appearance, adhering to the Company's uniform dress code.
- Comply with associate Rules of Conduct as outlined in all applicable manuals.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Inflight guides and manuals.
- Promote and uphold the Company's core values and culture within the work environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned or required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- High school diploma or GED with at least two years of customer service experience.
- Must be 20 years of age by the date of the first interview.
Preferred Education and/or Experience
- Additional years of customer service experience, preferably in an aviation environment.
- Previous Flight Attendant experience.
Other Requirements
- Possess exceptional interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and a customer-centric mindset.
- Must be willing to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Must be able to serve and handle peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork.
- Able to work with animals and around other allergens and products.
- Pursuant to Republic's Flight Attendant Style Guide, i.e. Dress Code, tattoos are NOT permitted on the head, face, neck (including behind the ear), chest, hands, or fingers. Visible tattoos are permitted on the arms, wrist, legs, ankles, and feet if less than 2" x 3.25"; otherwise, they must be fully covered by a listed, approved tattoo coverage method.
- Must have a wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater to reach and safely operate all necessary equipment on the aircraft.
- For safety reasons, must have the ability to sit in the Flight Attendant jump seat with the seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without an extender or other modification that may compromise the integrity of the harness. (For reference purposes only: The lap belt measurement is 50 inches when fastened and the shoulder harness measurement is 40 inches when fastened.)
- Must not have multiple piercings visible while in uniform.
Language Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Effective communication skills for presenting information and responding to inquiries from management, crew, passengers, and the general public.
- Fluency in English, including clear verbal commands during emergency situations.
Reasoning/Problem Solving Ability
- Adaptability to a time-sensitive environment and effective stress management skills for meeting deadlines and handling unexpected changes.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret various instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Maintain composure, think critically, and react swiftly in emergency situations including medical emergencies, aircraft decompression, emergency evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, turbulence, etc.

- Make day-to-day decisions supporting the operation. Decisions often require thoughtful consideration within a structured framework.
- Ability to process information quickly and respond positively in unexpected and/or critical situations.
- Capability for self-regulation, managing personal and emotional responses appropriately under high levels of stress.
Physical Demands
- Possess the physical strength to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits, utilizing necessary movements and force up to and including 70 pounds.
- Lift objects above shoulders up to and including 35 pounds.
- Push and pull moveable carts exceeding 250 pounds.
- Walk and stand for extended periods, potentially experiencing aircraft turbulence.
- Stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel.
- Clear vision at 20 feet or more with corrective lenses or contacts.
- Clearly hear verbal communications in person and over airplane communication systems amidst ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
- Sit in assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without any modifications.
- Move freely, efficiently, and swiftly within the confined environment of an aircraft.
- Work extended duty periods on sequential days.
Work Environment
- Ability and willingness to work in a culturally diverse atmosphere and professionally interact with passengers and crew under stressful conditions.
- Adapt to customers' special needs and disabilities.
- Work extended periods of time and a varied schedule, including early mornings, nights, overnights, and weekends.
Travel Requirements
- Travel up to 100% of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnights. Willing to relocate based on the Company's operational needs.
