Flight Attendant Position
Overview
Republic Airways, a leading regional airline in North America, seeks a highly motivated and customer-oriented individual to join its Flight Attendant team. The Flight Attendant is responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers while adhering to all applicable FAA and Inflight guidelines. This position requires a commitment to providing exceptional service and a willingness to work in a demanding and dynamic environment.
Essential Duties
- Perform all regulatory and assigned cabin duties, prioritizing guest safety and comfort throughout the flight.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all emergency procedures and proficiently operate all emergency equipment onboard the aircraft. This includes safely operating emergency exits and aircraft equipment, potentially requiring the exertion of force up to 70 pounds.
- Provide food and beverage service to passengers, which involves pushing and pulling movable carts exceeding 250 pounds.
- Assist passengers in stowing carry-on baggage weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Maintain a clean and organized cabin environment.
- Contribute to a reliable and timely flight operation by collaborating with crew members to meet all reporting, departure, and minimum turn times.
- Perform inflight sales and promotional duties as assigned.
- Provide assistance to other Customer Service staff as needed for passenger handling or other duties.
- Maintain consistent and timely attendance in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Present a professional image through both conduct and appearance, adhering to the company's uniform dress code.
- Comply with all associate Rules of Conduct outlined in applicable manuals.
- Stay current with Inflight guides and manuals.
- Promote and uphold the company's core values and culture within the work environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned or required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- High school diploma or GED, with at least two years of customer service experience.
- Minimum age of 20 years by the date of the first interview.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Additional years of customer service experience, ideally in an aviation environment.
- Prior Flight Attendant experience.
Other Requirements
- Possess polished interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and a customer-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Ability and willingness to serve and handle peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef and pork.
- Ability to work with animals and around other allergens and products.
- Pursuant to Republic’s Flight Attendant Style Guide, tattoos are not permitted on the head, face, neck (including behind the ear), chest, hands, or fingers. Visible tattoos are permitted on the arms, wrist, legs, ankles, and feet if less than 2” x 3.25”; otherwise, they must be fully covered by a listed, approved tattoo coverage method.
- Wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater to reach and safely operate all necessary equipment on the aircraft.
- Ability to sit in the Flight Attendant jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without extender or other modification that may harm the integrity of the harness. (Lap belt measurement: 50 inches when fastened, shoulder harness measurement: 40 inches when fastened).
- No multiple piercings visible while in uniform.
Language Skills
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Effective communication skills, presenting information to and responding to questions from management, crew, passengers, and the general public.
- Fluency in English, including the ability to speak and be understood clearly, including shouted verbal commands during emergency situations.
Reasoning/Problem Solving Ability
- Willingness to work in a time-sensitive environment and effectively handle the stress associated with meeting deadlines and managing unexpected change.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Maintain composure, think, and react quickly in all types of emergency situations, including medical emergencies, aircraft decompression, emergency evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, turbulence, etc.
Decision Making
- Make day-to-day decisions to support flight operations, requiring thoughtful consideration within a structured framework.
- Process information quickly and react positively during unexpected and/or serious situations.
- Control personal and emotional responses and act appropriately under high levels of stress.
Physical Demands
- Possess the physical strength to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits using necessary movements and force up to and including 70 pounds.
- Capable of lifting objects above shoulders up to and including 35 pounds.
- Ability to push and pull movable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, sometimes with aircraft turbulence.
- Ability to stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel.
- Clear vision at 20 feet or more with corrective lenses or contacts.
- Ability to clearly hear verbal communications in person and over airplane communication systems with ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
- Ability to sit in assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without any modifications.
- Ability to move about the aircraft and perform all required functions freely, effectively, and quickly in a confined environment.
- Ability to work extended duty periods on sequential days.
Work Environment
- Ability and willingness to work in a culturally diverse atmosphere and professionally interact with passengers and crew under stressful conditions.
- Ability to accommodate customers’ special needs/disabilities.
- Willingness and ability to work for extended periods of time as well as a varied schedule, including early mornings, nights, overnights, and weekends.
Travel Requirements
- Travel up to 100% of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight stays.
- Willingness to relocate based on the Company’s operational needs.
