Flight Attendant Position at Republic Airways
Overview

Position Purpose
The Flight Attendant is responsible for upholding the highest standards of safety and service onboard our aircraft. They will enforce FAA and company-specific guidelines, deliver a welcoming and positive experience for all passengers, and provide assistance in any situation that may arise.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Safety and Emergency Procedures: Thoroughly understand and consistently implement all emergency procedures and the proper usage of emergency equipment. Operate emergency exits and aircraft equipment, requiring the ability to exert force up to 70 pounds.
- Guest Service: Provide a safe and comfortable onboard experience, catering to the needs of our guests. Perform all regulatory and assigned cabin duties with a focus on passenger well-being.
- Passenger Service: Serve food and beverages, requiring the ability to push and pull moveable carts exceeding 250 pounds. Assist passengers with stowing carry-on baggage up to 35 pounds.
- Cabin Maintenance: Maintain a neat and orderly cabin environment throughout the flight.
- Teamwork and Efficiency: Collaborate with fellow crew members to ensure timely departures and arrivals, adhering to all report times and minimum turn times.
- Inflight Sales and Promotions: Perform inflight sales and promotional duties as assigned.
- Customer Service Support: Assist other Customer Service staff as needed with passenger handling or other duties.
- Attendance and Punctuality: Maintain a reliable and punctual attendance record in accordance with company policies.
- Professional Image: Present a professional image in both conduct and appearance, adhering to the company uniform dress code.
- Compliance: Comply with all associate Rules of Conduct as outlined in applicable manuals.
- Knowledge and Training: Maintain currency with all Inflight guides and manuals.
- Culture and Values: Uphold Republic Airways' core values and culture in the workplace.
- Additional Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned or required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED, with a minimum of two years of customer service experience. Must be 20 years of age by the date of the first interview.
- Interpersonal Skills: Possess polished interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and a customer-oriented mindset.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Customer Service: Additional years of customer service experience, preferably in an aviation environment.
- Prior Flight Attendant Experience: Previous experience as a Flight Attendant is preferred.
Other Requirements
- Alcohol Service: Willingness to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Food Handling: Ability and willingness to serve and handle peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef and pork.
- Allergen Awareness: Ability to work with animals and around other allergens and products.
- Tattoos: Pursuant to Republic's Flight Attendant Style Guide, tattoos are not permitted on the head, face, neck (including behind the ear), chest, hands, or fingers. Visible tattoos are permitted on the arms, wrist, legs, ankles, and feet if less than 2” x 3.25”; otherwise, they must be fully covered by a listed, approved tattoo coverage method.
- Physical Requirements: Possess a wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater to reach and safely operate all necessary equipment on the aircraft. Ability to sit in the Flight Attendant jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without extender or other modification that may harm the integrity of the harness. Lap belt measurement is 50 inches when fastened and the shoulder harness measurement is 40 inches when fastened.
- Piercings: Must not have multiple piercings visible while in uniform.
Language Skills
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Communication: Effectively present information to and respond to questions from management, crew, passengers, and the general public.
- English Fluency: Able to speak and be understood in English, including shouted verbal commands during emergency situations.
Reasoning and Problem Solving
- Time Management: Willingness to work in a time-sensitive environment and effectively handle stress associated with meeting deadlines and managing unexpected change.
- Instruction Interpretation: Capable of interpreting various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Emergency Response: Ability to remain calm, think, and react quickly in all types of emergency situations, including medical emergencies, aircraft decompression, emergency evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, turbulence, etc.

- Operational Support: Make day-to-day decisions used to support the operation, often requiring thought and structure.
- Situational Awareness: Ability to process information quickly and react positively during unexpected and/or serious situations.
- Emotional Regulation: Capable of controlling personal and emotional responses and acting appropriately under high levels of stress.
Physical Demands
- Strength and Agility: Possess the physical strength to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits using necessary movements and force up to and including 70 pounds. Capable of lifting objects above shoulders up to and including 35 pounds. Able to push and pull moveable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Mobility: Able to walk and stand for extended periods, sometimes with aircraft turbulence. Must be able to stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel.
- Sensory Abilities: Able to see clearly at 20 feet or more with corrective lenses or contacts. Able to clearly hear verbal communications in person and over airplane communication systems with ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
- Seating: Must be able to sit in assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without any modifications.
- Mobility: Must be able to move about the aircraft and perform all required functions freely, effectively, and quickly in a confined environment.
- Endurance: Able to work extended duty periods on sequential days.
Work Environment
- Diversity and Stress: Able and willing to work in a culturally diverse atmosphere and professionally interact with passengers and crew under stressful conditions.
- Customer Accommodation: Ability to accommodate customers' special needs/disabilities.
- Schedule Flexibility: Willing and able to work for extended periods of time as well as a varied schedule, including early mornings, nights, overnights, and weekends.
Travel Requirements
- Extensive Travel: Travel up to 100% of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight stays. Willingness to relocate based on the Company's operational needs.
