Overview
This position offers a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to join Republic Airways as a Flight Attendant. The Flight Attendant plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers onboard our aircraft.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Flight Attendant is responsible for:
- Safety and Service: Executing all regulatory and assigned cabin duties with a focus on passenger well-being, creating a safe and comfortable onboard experience.
- Emergency Procedures: Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of emergency procedures and the operation of all emergency equipment, including the ability to operate emergency exits and aircraft equipment requiring the exertion of up to 70 pounds of force.
- Passenger Service: Providing food and beverage service to passengers, requiring the ability to push and pull carts exceeding 250 pounds in weight.
- Passenger Assistance: Assisting passengers in stowing carry-on baggage weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Cabin Maintenance: Maintaining a clean and organized cabin environment.
- Operational Efficiency: Contributing to on-time departures and arrivals by collaborating with crew members to adhere to scheduled times.
- Inflight Sales: Performing assigned inflight sales and promotional duties.
- Customer Service: Assisting other customer service staff as needed with passenger handling and other duties.
- Attendance: Maintaining reliable and prompt attendance in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Professionalism: Presenting a professional image in both conduct and appearance, adhering to the company's uniform dress code.
- Compliance: Complying with the company's Rules of Conduct as outlined in applicable manuals.
- Professional Development: Maintaining currency on all relevant inflight guides and manuals.
- Company Culture: Promoting the company's core values and culture within the work environment.
- Additional Duties: Performing additional duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED, with at least two years of customer service experience.
- Must be 20 years of age by the date of the first interview.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional years of customer service experience, preferably in an aviation environment.
- Previous experience as a Flight Attendant.
Other Requirements:
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and a customer-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Ability and willingness to serve food items containing peanuts, shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork.
- Ability to work with animals and around other allergens and products.
- Adherence to Republic Airways' Flight Attendant Style Guide regarding tattoos.
- Wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater to operate aircraft equipment safely.
- Ability to sit in the Flight Attendant jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without modifications.
- Limited visible piercings while in uniform.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Effective communication skills to present information to and respond to questions from management, crew, passengers, and the general public.
- Fluency in spoken English, including the ability to issue verbal commands clearly during emergency situations.
Reasoning/Problem Solving:
- Ability to work effectively in a time-sensitive environment, managing stress and adapting to unexpected changes.
- Capable of interpreting various instructions presented in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Calm demeanor and ability to think and react quickly in emergency situations, including medical emergencies, aircraft decompression, evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, turbulence, etc.
Decision Making:
- Ability to make day-to-day decisions to support operations, utilizing structured processes and sound judgment.
- Quick processing and positive reaction to unexpected or serious situations.
- Control over personal and emotional responses, demonstrating appropriate actions under high levels of stress.
Physical Demands
This position requires the following physical capabilities:
- Strength and Mobility: Physical strength to reach and operate emergency equipment and exits, using force up to 70 pounds.
- Lifting: Ability to lift objects above shoulders weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Pushing/Pulling: Capable of pushing and pulling movable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Standing/Walking: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including the ability to manage aircraft turbulence.
- Mobility: Ability to stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel.
- Vision: Clear vision at 20 feet or more with corrective lenses or contacts.
- Hearing: Ability to clearly hear verbal communication in person and over airplane communication systems amidst ambient noise.
- Seating: Ability to sit in the assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without modifications.
- Movement: Ability to move freely, effectively, and quickly within a confined aircraft environment.
- Endurance: Ability to work extended duty periods on sequential days.

This role requires frequent travel, up to 100% of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnights. The candidate must be willing to relocate based on the company's operational needs.
