Overview

Republic Airways seeks a dedicated and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Flight Attendant. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of our passengers in accordance with FAA and Inflight guidelines.

Essential Duties

  • Providing a safe and comfortable onboard experience for all passengers while adhering to regulatory and assigned cabin duties.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of all emergency procedures and proficiently operating all emergency equipment on board the aircraft.
  • Operating all emergency exits and aircraft equipment, utilizing the necessary movements and force up to and including 70 pounds.
  • Serving food and beverages to passengers, which involves pushing and pulling moveable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
  • Assisting passengers in stowing carry-on baggage weighing up to and including 35 pounds.
  • Maintaining a neat and orderly cabin environment.
  • Contributing to a reliable and on-time operation by working collaboratively with other crewmembers to adhere to all report times, departure times, and minimum turn times.
  • Performing inflight sales and promotional duties as assigned.
  • Providing assistance to other Customer Service staff as needed with passenger handling or other duties.
  • Maintaining consistent and punctual attendance in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Projecting a professional image through conduct and appearance, including strict adherence to the Company uniform dress code.
  • Demonstrating full compliance with associate Rules of Conduct as outlined in all applicable manuals.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of Inflight guides and manuals.
  • Fostering the Company’s core values and culture throughout the work environment.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned or required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • High school diploma or GED, coupled with at least two years of customer service experience.
  • Must be 20 years of age by the date of the first interview.

Preferred Education and/or Experience

  • Additional years of customer service experience, ideally within an aviation environment.
  • Previous Flight Attendant experience.

Other Requirements

  • Possess refined and professional interpersonal skills, characterized by a positive attitude and a customer-centric mindset.
  • Willingness and ability to serve alcoholic beverages.
  • Ability and willingness to serve and handle peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork.
  • Ability to work with animals and around other allergens and products.
  • Must not have tattoos visible on any parts of the head, face, neck, chest, or hands.
  • Must not have more than two earrings per earlobe.
  • Must not have facial piercings.

Language Skills

  • Ability to effectively read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
  • Capability to clearly and effectively present information to, and respond to questions from, management, crew, passengers, and the general public.
  • Ability to speak and be understood in English, including shouted verbal commands during emergency situations.

Reasoning/Problem Solving Ability

  • Willingness to work in a time-sensitive environment and effectively manage stress associated with meeting deadlines and navigating unexpected change.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to maintain composure, think critically, and react swiftly in all types of emergency situations, including but not limited to: medical emergencies, aircraft decompression, emergency evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, turbulence, etc.

Decision Making

  • Regularly makes day-to-day decisions that support operations. Decisions often require thoughtful consideration and are somewhat structured.
  • Ability to process information quickly and respond positively during unexpected or serious situations.
  • Capability to control personal and emotional responses and act appropriately under high levels of stress.

Physical Demands

  • Must possess the physical strength to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits utilizing necessary movements and force up to and including 70 pounds.
  • Capability to lift objects above shoulders up to and including 35 pounds.
  • Ability to push and pull moveable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, sometimes with aircraft turbulence.
  • Must be able to stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel.
  • Ability to see clearly at 20 feet or more with corrective lenses or contacts.
  • Ability to clearly hear verbal communications in person and over airplane communication systems with ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
  • Must be able to sit in the assigned jump seat with the seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without any modifications.
  • Must be able to move about the aircraft and perform all required functions freely, effectively, and quickly in confined environments.
  • Ability to work extended duty periods on sequential days.

Work Environment

  • Willingness and ability to work in a culturally diverse atmosphere and interact professionally with passengers and crew under stressful conditions.
  • The ability to accommodate customers’ special needs/disabilities.
  • Willingness and ability to work for extended periods of time as well as a varied schedule, including early mornings, nights, overnights, and weekends.

Travel Requirements

  • Travel up to 100% of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnights.
  • Willingness to relocate based on the Company’s operational needs.
