Flight Attendant - Republic Airways

Republic Airways seeks a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as a Flight Attendant. The successful candidate will prioritize passenger safety and comfort while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and customer service. Overview

The Flight Attendant is responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers onboard our aircraft, adhering to all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and company guidelines.

Essential Duties

  • Perform all assigned cabin duties, demonstrating a commitment to passenger well-being while maintaining a safe and comfortable onboard experience.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all emergency procedures and the operation of emergency equipment. Demonstrate the ability to safely operate all emergency exits and equipment, including the application of force up to 70 pounds.
  • Provide passengers with food and beverages, requiring the ability to push and pull movable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
  • Assist passengers with stowing carry-on baggage, lifting up to 35 pounds.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly cabin environment.
  • Collaborate with crew members to ensure a reliable and on-time operation, adhering to all report times, departure times, and minimum turn times.
  • Execute inflight sales and promotional duties as assigned.
  • Assist other Customer Service staff with passenger handling or other duties as needed.
  • Maintain consistent and punctual attendance according to company policies.
  • Present a professional image in both conduct and appearance, adhering to the company uniform dress code.
  • Comply with all applicable company manuals and policies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of inflight guides and manuals.
  • Promote and uphold the company's core values and culture within the work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • High school diploma or GED, coupled with at least two years of customer service experience.
  • Must be 20 years of age by the date of the first interview.

Preferred Education and/or Experience

  • Additional years of customer service experience, preferably in an aviation environment.
  • Previous Flight Attendant experience.

Other Requirements

  • Possess strong interpersonal skills, characterized by a positive attitude and a customer-centric mindset.
  • Must be willing and able to serve alcoholic beverages.
  • Must be able to serve and handle peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef and pork.
  • Comfortable working with animals and around other allergens and products.
  • Must not have tattoos visible on any parts of the head, face, neck, chest, or hands.
  • Must not have more than two earrings per earlobe.
  • Must not have facial piercings.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
  • Effective communication skills, enabling the ability to present information and respond to questions from management, crew, passengers, and the general public.
  • Fluent English speaker with the ability to be understood, including shouted verbal commands during emergency situations.

Reasoning/Problem-Solving Ability

  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage stress associated with deadlines and unexpected changes.
  • Ability to interpret and follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Maintain composure, think clearly, and react quickly in all types of emergency situations, including medical emergencies, aircraft decompression, emergency evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, turbulence, etc.

Decision Making

  • Make day-to-day decisions in support of operations, often requiring thoughtful consideration within a structured environment.
  • Ability to process information quickly and react positively during unexpected or serious situations.
  • Effective self-control and emotional management, enabling appropriate action under high levels of stress.

Physical Demands

  • Possess the physical strength to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits, using necessary movements and force up to 70 pounds.
  • Capable of lifting objects above shoulders up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to push and pull movable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, including potential exposure to aircraft turbulence.
  • Must be able to stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel.
  • Clear vision at 20 feet or more, with or without corrective lenses or contacts.
  • Ability to clearly hear verbal communication in person and over airplane communication systems, with ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
  • Must be able to sit in assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without any modifications.
  • Ability to move freely, effectively, and quickly throughout the aircraft in a confined environment.
  • Able to work extended duty periods on sequential days.

Work Environment

  • Ability and willingness to work in a culturally diverse environment and professionally interact with passengers and crew under stressful conditions.
  • Ability to accommodate customers' special needs/disabilities.
  • Willingness and ability to work a varied schedule, including early mornings, nights, overnights, and weekends.

Travel Requirements

Travel up to 100% of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight stays. Willingness to relocate based on the company's operational needs.
