Flight Attendant Job Description
Overview
Republic Airways seeks a dedicated and highly motivated individual to join its team as a Flight Attendant. In this role, the Flight Attendant will prioritize passenger safety and comfort while adhering to all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Inflight guidelines.
Essential Duties
- Safety and Security: Implement and maintain a thorough understanding of all emergency procedures and equipment on board the aircraft. Demonstrate the ability to operate all emergency exits and aircraft equipment, utilizing the necessary force up to and including 70 pounds.
- Passenger Service: Provide passengers with food and beverage service, requiring the ability to push and pull mobile carts exceeding 250 pounds. Assist passengers with stowing carry-on baggage weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Cabin Maintenance: Maintain a neat and orderly cabin environment, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and organization.
- Operational Efficiency: Collaborate with other crew members to maintain a reliable and on-time operation, adhering to all report times, departure times, and minimum turn times.
- Inflight Sales and Promotions: Perform inflight sales and promotional duties as assigned.
- Customer Service: Assist other Customer Service staff as needed with passenger handling or other duties.
- Attendance and Professionalism: Maintain consistent and prompt attendance according to Company policies and procedures. Present a professional image, both in conduct and appearance, including adherence to the Company uniform dress code.
- Compliance: Comply with all associate Rules of Conduct as outlined in applicable manuals. Stay current with all Inflight guides and manuals.
- Company Culture: Foster and uphold the Company's core values and culture throughout the work environment.
- Additional Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned or required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Education and Experience: Possess a high school diploma or GED, along with a minimum of two years of customer service experience. Must be 20 years of age by the date of the first interview.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Customer Service: Possess additional years of customer service experience, preferably in an aviation environment.
- Flight Attendant Experience: Prior experience as a Flight Attendant is preferred.
Other Requirements
- Interpersonal Skills: Possess polished and professional interpersonal skills, coupled with a positive attitude and a customer-oriented mindset.
- Food Service: Be willing and able to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Allergen Handling: Be able to serve and handle peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef and pork.
- Animal and Allergen Exposure: Demonstrate the ability to work with animals and around other allergens and products.
- Appearance: Adhere to Company appearance guidelines, including the prohibition of visible tattoos on any parts of the head, face, neck, chest, or hands. Must not have more than two earrings per earlobe or facial piercings.
Language Skills
- Reading and Interpretation: Possess the ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Communication: Demonstrate the ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions from management, crew, passengers, and the general public.
- English Proficiency: Speak and be understood in English, including shouted verbal commands during emergency situations.
Reasoning/Problem Solving Ability
- Time Management: Be willing to work in a time-sensitive environment and effectively handle stress associated with meeting deadlines and managing unexpected change.
- Instruction Comprehension: Capable of interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Emergency Response: Possess the ability to remain calm, think, and react quickly in all types of emergency situations, including medical emergencies, aircraft decompression, emergency evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, turbulence, etc.

- Operational Support: Make day-to-day decisions to support operations, often requiring thought and following established procedures.
- Stress Management: Demonstrate the ability to process information quickly and react in a positive manner during unexpected and/or serious situations.
- Emotional Control: Maintain control over personal and emotional responses and act appropriately under high levels of stress.
Physical Demands
- Strength and Mobility: Possess the physical strength to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits using necessary movements and force up to and including 70 pounds. Be capable of lifting objects above shoulders up to and including 35 pounds.
- Manual Dexterity: Demonstrate the ability to push and pull mobile carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Endurance: Be able to walk and stand for extended periods, sometimes with aircraft turbulence.
- Mobility: Possess the ability to stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel.
- Vision and Hearing: Possess the ability to see clearly at 20 feet or more with corrective lenses or contacts. Be able to clearly hear verbal communications in person and over airplane communication systems with ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
- Seating: Must be able to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without any modifications.
- Confined Spaces: Possess the ability to move about the aircraft and perform all required functions freely, effectively, and quickly in a confined environment.
- Work Schedule: Be able to work extended duty periods on sequential days.

- Special Needs: Possess the ability to accommodate customers' special needs/disabilities.

Travel Requirements
- Extensive Travel: Be willing to travel up to 100% of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight stays.
- Relocation: Demonstrate willingness to relocate based on the Company's operational needs.
