Learjet Pilot Position at Raytheon Australia
Raytheon Australia, a trusted provider of complex technology and engineering projects for the Australian Defence Force, is seeking highly skilled and motivated Learjet 35A aircraft pilots to join its aviation team. This full-time opportunity is located in Nowra, New South Wales, with potential for relocation or FIFO options from Williamtown or Amberley.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be part of a skilled team responsible for delivering real-world airborne simulation for sophisticated EW system training, testing, and evaluation trials. The role involves piloting a Learjet 35A aircraft and coordinating flight operations to ensure the timely and successful delivery of EW training and certification services to the Royal Australian Air Force, Royal Australian Navy, and other Australian Defence assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Form part of the flight crew for the special mission EW Learjet 35A aircraft.
- Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and effective working environment in collaboration with the Head of Operations.
- Act as Deployment Commander on a rotational basis with other aircrew members.
- Contribute to tactical operating procedures and standards for EW flight operations.
Essential Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
- CASA Part 61 Commercial Pilot License (Aeroplane)
- Valid CASA Class 1 Medical Certificate
- Eligibility to obtain a current Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
- CASA Multi Crew Cooperation (MCC) training
- Low Level Rating (Aeroplane)
- Formation Flying Flight Activity Endorsement (Aeroplane)
- Instrument Rating (Multi Engine Aircraft (MEA) with Instrument Approach Procedure (IAP) 2D and IAP 3D)
- Minimum of 2000 hours total flight time
- 1000 hours Pilot In Command (PIC)
- 800 hours turbine time
- 6 years minimum flying experience as a pilot in military aviation operations
Desirable Qualifications:
- Military pilot fast jet experience (RAAF Introductory Fighter Course (IFC) equivalent)
- Ability to act as alternate Head of Operations
- Other CASA qualifications such as Flight Instructor, Flight Examiner or previous check and/or training experience
