This position operates a Citation XLS+ within a two-pilot flight department based in Wheeling, IL, with an estimated annual flight time of 350 hours.
Job Summary:
The Pilot in Command is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft, maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service. The successful candidate will exhibit exceptional piloting skills, a comprehensive understanding of aviation regulations, and the ability to effectively lead a flight crew.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure strict adherence to all Priester Aviation policies and procedures.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and aircraft operating manuals during flight operations.
- Provide exemplary professional and courteous interactions with the client, owner, and support personnel, demonstrating impeccable personal presentation and a service-oriented approach to decision-making.
- Actively participate in and maintain familiarity with the Safety Management System (SMS) processes and initiatives.
- Continuously identify and implement efficiencies within flight operations and the flight department.
- Proactively identify and communicate potential system and process improvements to Priester Aviation leadership that benefit both the aircraft owner and the company.
- Ensure accurate and timely communication of flight schedules and updates to Flight Services.
- Proactively identify and report operational or flight department issues to the Team Leader.
- Uphold the integrity and reputation of Priester Aviation among industry stakeholders, enhancing the company's image and goodwill.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Flight Experience: Minimum 5,000 total flight hours; 2,500 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC); 2,500 hours multi-engine land (1,500 hours as multi-engine PIC); 2,000 hours in turbine aircraft; 500 hours instrument time.
- Certifications: Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with multi-engine land rating; current First-Class Medical Certificate.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, flight planning, and safety management systems; excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to make sound, decisive judgments under pressure; proficiency in flight planning and aviation management software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in Part 135 operations.
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator’s Permit.
