An established aviation organization seeks a skilled and experienced Pilot-in-Command to join its team of 15 pilots and 5 cabin attendants. The Pilot-in-Command is responsible for the safe, comfortable, and timely operation of a fleet of four aircraft, with flight operations consisting of approximately two-thirds North American missions and one-third international missions (S. America, Europe, Asia). He or she supervises the flight crew and ensures adherence to all FAA regulations during flight and ground operations. The Pilot-in-Command determines the route, speed, and take-off and landing times to fulfill scheduling requirements. This individual participates in mission planning with trip coordinators and international handlers, often days prior to flight, and makes critical decisions regarding possible delays, re-routing, or flight cancellations. When not actively flying, pilots may perform other general department duties, including attendance at crew meetings.
This position is primarily located at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW), however, occasional operations may originate from Waterford, MI, based on aircraft location. Candidates must reside within two hours of DTW. Crew members assigned to this account have averaged 16 workdays per month in 2024, with seasonal variations in activity.
