Helicopter Air Ambulance Pilot (S76 First Officer)

PHI Health, a leading air ambulance provider in the United States, is seeking a skilled and dedicated First Officer for S76 2-Pilot Crew IFR/NVG operations in Dallas, TX. This position offers the opportunity to perform critical life-saving missions while upholding the highest standards of safety and professional excellence. A sign-on bonus of up to $50,000 is available for this role.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will operate under CAMTS guidelines within a 24-hour, day/night rotation helicopter air ambulance environment. Responsibilities include performing line pilot duties in accordance with the General Operations Manual (GOM), supporting the company's Safety Management System and "Destination Zero" initiatives, and participating in community outreach programs. Pilots will be expected to assist in the loading and unloading of patients and equipment.

Key Requirements

  • Commercial and Instrument Helicopter Ratings.
  • Must obtain ATP within the first 12 months of employment.
  • First Class Medical certificate.
  • CAMTS Flight Hour Requirements: 2,000 total hours; 1,500 helicopter hours; 1,000 PIC helicopter hours; 500 turbine helicopter hours; 75 instrument hours (actual and hood).
  • Night Operations Requirement: 100 hours unaided night operations OR 50 hours unaided and 100 hours Night Vision Goggles (NVG).
  • Must meet and maintain the company’s flight personnel weight restriction policy (individual weight limit of 235 lbs or less).
  • Must pass a pre-placement physical exam, including a functional capacity exam (must be able to lift 100 lbs), drug screening, and background screen.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated customer service ability.
  • Interview and acceptance by PHI management and the customer.

Schedule and Location

  • Schedule: 7&7 (Day of week the base changes schedules; schedule changes may be required).
  • Residency: Must reside within a 1-hour or less commute of the assigned base.

Additional Terms

  • Aircraft transition: 1-year minimum service requirement.
  • Relocation package: If utilized, a 2-year minimum service requirement applies.
