Captain Pilot
Norfolk Southern Corp. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Captain Pilot to join its aviation team in Atlanta, GA. This individual will be responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of company aircraft, adhering to all established company policies and Federal regulations. The position, Requisition 38211: B5, requires a commitment to maintaining the highest customer service standards and contributing to the Flight Department's Safety Management System (SMS).
Responsibilities:
- Serve as Pilot in Command (PIC) or Second in Command (SIC) on the Challenger 605, ensuring flight safety and aircraft airworthiness.
- Execute comprehensive flight planning, including aircraft performance, weight and balance, and compliance with weather limitations, NOTAMs, TFRs, and all other safety considerations.
- Maintain strict adherence to FAA regulations, ICAO standards, company procedures, and industry best practices, operating the aircraft according to manufacturer and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Attend to passenger needs, including security, ground transportation, catering, and baggage handling.
- Actively contribute to the Flight Department’s SMS by identifying and reporting hazards.
- Participate in training and certification for all company aircraft as both PIC and SIC.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Pilot.
Education:
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree
Experience:
- Minimum: 3-5 years of experience; 2,500 total flight hours; 1,000 hours of jet time; 500 hours of Challenger series experience.
- Preferred: 6-10 years of corporate flying experience; 5,000 total flight hours; 2,500 hours of multiengine jet time; 1,000 hours of Challenger series experience; international flying experience.
Qualifications:
- Required: Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with multiengine land rating; CL-604 Type Rating (604/605/650); valid US Passport; English language proficiency; FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in EFB use, Arinc, and ForeFlight.
- Competency in MS Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook.
