Learjet 45XR Pilot in Command - Nashville, TN
Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company and a subsidiary of NetJets, is seeking a qualified Pilot in Command (PIC) for a Learjet 45XR based in Nashville, TN. EJM has been a pioneer in aircraft management and worldwide jet charter services since 1977, known for its unwavering commitment to safety, service, and integrity. This position is part of a 3-pilot account, flying approximately 400-450 hours per year under EJM’s Part 135 certificate.
The Pilot in Command holds the ultimate responsibility for ensuring the aircraft is operated in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner. The PIC adheres to all company and regulatory requirements while consistently delivering an exceptional service experience. This is not a commutable position; candidates must reside in or relocate to the Nashville area.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Ensures crewing and trip assignments comply with all company and regulatory requirements.
- Completes thorough flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks for each assignment.
- Utilizes Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead essential briefings and mitigate operational risks effectively.
- Complies strictly with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinates seamlessly with company personnel as required. Acts as the Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator as defined by company policy.
- Completes all pre-flight tasks, including verifying the aircraft's maintenance status, to guarantee mission readiness. Accurately records any aircraft discrepancies in accordance with company SOPs.
- Ensures all aircraft ground servicing requirements (e.g., fueling, oil, oxygen) are meticulously monitored and fulfilled in adherence to SOPs.
- Conducts comprehensive passenger briefings according to company policy and regulations. Delivers superior customer service, addressing any special passenger needs (e.g., physically challenged).
- Employs Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) principles to communicate clearly and promptly with crew and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
- Provides outstanding service to owners and passengers, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience and address any service deviations.
- Collaborates effectively with fellow crew members and EJM internal partners to ensure consistent service for owners and passengers, resolving conflicts professionally and constructively.
- Maintains all regulatory and company-required training and currency.
- Complies with the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program and reports all safety or non-compliance concerns through appropriate channels.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements:
- Prior experience in Part 135 operations is essential.
- FAA Type Rating for Learjet 45XR (preferred).
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
- Total Flight Time: 3500 hours
- Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command (PIC): 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
