Overview

Purpose of Position

Executive Jet Management, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking qualified Lead Pilot in Command candidates for a G650 aircraft based in Miami, FL (KOPF). Responsibility for the welfare of passengers in all aspects of cabin safety and service. Trained and proficient in the appropriate portions of Abnormal and Emergency procedures. Trained and proficient in all areas of cabin systems and operations. This is a six pilot account supported by a Maintenance Technician and two Flight Attendant flying part 135. Lead the account personnel in all aspects of flight management to ensure safety, security, comfort and exemplary service to passengers and proactively collaborates with Executive Jet Management (EJM) management on issue escalation, service needs and strategy.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Maintains a high degree of knowledge and ensures that all flight personnel comply with Federal Air Regulations (FARs), Operations Specifications (Op Specs), company policies, procedures and processes outline in the General Operations Manual and other organizational manuals. Maintains proficiency, competency and currency on assigned aircraft under Part 91 and/or Part 135 of FARs. Contributes when applicable, in the development of aircraft checklists. Maintains oversight and updated status of aircraft flight and performance manuals. Reviews the status of Service Bulletins, aircraft schedule changes and Field Service Advisories. Ensures all required EJM and FAA documentation is onboard the aircraft. Prepares for and participates in annual EJM aircraft audit process. Communicates periodically with appropriate EJM Management regarding planned systems upgrades that impact pending or current FAA/ICAO operational compliance issues.
  • Maintains the highest level of professional conduct towards crewmembers, employees and customers. Ensure organizational and customer expectations for economical, efficient and comfortable aircraft operations is achieved for maximum dispatch availability.
  • Provide leadership that embodies a spirit of teamwork between flight crewmembers, maintenance and support personal leadership that addresses the needs of the customer, organization and crewmembers before oneself. Advises Management of the status of his/her personnel with regards to safety, regulatory and personnel issues. Advises and reports anomalies to Management regarding status of customer service delivery. Contributes and participates in crewmember counseling and disciplinary action in collaboration with the Chief Pilot, Director of Operations and Human Resources personnel. Coordinates scheduling of days off, vacation days and training schedules with appropriate EJM staff members. Conducts periodic meetings with flight and maintenance staff members on operational and/or service issues. Ensures that on-site facilities are presentable, clean, and up to client expectations as well as EJM standards. Maintains oversight of operational expenses for accuracy and appropriateness. Billing statements will be reviewed for accuracy. Questions, comments, and concerns will be addressed in a timely manner to ensure proper statement delivery to the customer. Report any known deviations or anomalies of customer service delivery.
  • Maintains awareness of maintenance and inspection schedule to insure operational dispatch readiness. Reviews aircraft manufacturers’ discrepancy trend reporting systems to monitor problem areas that may affect dispatch reliability. Ensures all navigational materials and software is up-to-date for the aircraft. Conducts monthly audits of aircraft equipment and supplies. Ensures aircraft paperwork including weight and balance, maintenance logs, deferral documentation, and any other applicable documents are completed accurately and are forwarded in a timely manner to EJM.
  • Responsible for assuring that the company’s goals for safety, security and quality are met by continual compliance with the company Safety Management System (SMS) program and reporting through the appropriate process any safety, security or quality recommendations or non-compliance observations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Total flight time: 3500 hours
  • Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
  • Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
  • PIC MEL: 500 hours
  • Instrument: 300 hours
  • Jet: 500 hours
  • Aviation management experience, preferably with a private and/or corporate flight department.
  • Preference given to local candidates with GVI rating and similar aircraft size experience.
