Pilot in Command - Gulfstream 450
Executive Jet Management (EJM), a subsidiary of NetJets and a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Pilot in Command (PIC) for a Gulfstream 450 (G450) aircraft based in Houston, TX (KCXO). EJM is a pioneer in aircraft management and worldwide jet charter services, renowned for its commitment to safety, service, and integrity. Position Overview:
The Pilot in Command is entrusted with the final responsibility for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the designated aircraft. The PIC will be part of a two-pilot crew supported by a dedicated Maintenance Technician, operating under both Part 91 and Part 135 regulations. This impeccably maintained G450 will primarily serve retail charter operations, with an estimated 300 annual flight hours, including frequent trips to destinations such as Los Angeles, Miami, Salt Lake City, and various international locations such as Nassau.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensures the Safe Operation of Flight:
- Guarantees that all crew assignments and trip planning adhere to company and regulatory requirements.
- Completes comprehensive flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance assessments for each flight.
- Leads pre-flight briefings utilizing the Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) methodology to identify and mitigate operational risks.
- Strictly adheres to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), coordinating with relevant personnel as necessary. Serves as the Ground Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator, as defined by company policy.
- Performs thorough pre-flight inspections of the aircraft, verifying its maintenance status and ensuring its operational readiness. Logs all aircraft discrepancies in accordance with company SOPs.
- Oversees all aircraft ground servicing procedures (e.g., fueling, oil, oxygen), ensuring compliance with established SOPs.
- Conducts passenger briefings in adherence to company policy and regulations, providing exceptional customer service and addressing any special passenger needs.
- Employs Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) to facilitate clear and timely communication with crew members and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
- Delivers an Exceptional Service Experience:
- Provides superior service to aircraft owners and passengers, proactively seeking opportunities to improve the overall EJM service experience. Investigates and resolves service deviations effectively.
- Collaborates with crew members and EJM internal partners to deliver a consistent service experience. Handles conflicts and challenges with professionalism.
- Maintains Proficiency and Compliance:
- Maintains current regulatory and company training requirements, ensuring recency of experience.
- Adheres to the company Safety Management System (SMS) program, promptly reporting any safety or non-compliance concerns through the appropriate channels.
Required Certifications and Licenses:
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
Required Experience:
- A minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience in aviation.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other (KSAOs):
- Prior experience in corporate or business aviation is highly preferred.
- Preference will be given to candidates with a GV/450/550 type rating.
- Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the position.
- Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
- Total Flight Time: 3500 hours
- Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command (PIC): 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
