Role Overview

NetJets Pilots are integral ambassadors of the brand, tasked with providing a superior air transportation experience defined by a continued safety record and exceptional service for every NetJets Owner and passenger. Pilots serve as the face of NetJets, delivering technically accurate and safe transportation alongside an outstanding service experience. They command the world's largest and most diverse private jet fleet, flying influential individuals to desirable destinations across the globe.

Key Responsibilities

The Pilot is responsible for the safe operation of the aircraft from taxi through landing, adhering strictly to FAA guidelines, Original Equipment Manufacturer’s (OEM) Checklists, NetJets Flight Operations Manual (FOM) or Aircraft Operating Manual (AOM), and Standard Operating Practices (SOPs).

Key tasks include:

  • Greeting Owners and passengers pre-flight, providing introductions, briefing on the flight/trip specifics, verifying itinerary, offering weather updates and safety briefings, and explaining any itinerary changes.
  • Providing in-flight service as needed, including handling alcohol and serving catering.
  • Loading and properly stowing baggage on the aircraft.
  • Managing flights for Owners traveling with pets and those who smoke.
  • Acting as the final authority on their aircraft regarding all operational areas, including compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory guidance.
  • Serving as a liaison between Owners/passengers and NetJets from arrival at the FBO until safe landing at the final destination and departure from the FBO.
  • Properly communicating any maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies to NetJets via the aircraft Maintenance Control Center (MCC) Controller on duty for their fleet.
  • Completing all necessary paperwork associated with maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies.

Qualifications and Requirements

Qualified candidates will possess the following:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Written FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) or the ability to complete it prior to the start of Indoctrination Training.
  • Current FAA First-Class Medical certificate.
  • FCC Restricted Radio Operator’s Permit.
  • Meet the requirements for an FAA ATP, Restricted ATP, or qualify for an ATP or Restricted ATP (R-ATP) certificate with multi-engine rating (IAW 61.160):
    • At least 21 years of age.
    • 1,500 hours total flight time experience; or 1,250 hours with appropriate university R-ATP certificate; or 1,000 hours with military pilot qualification; or 1,000 hours with appropriate university R-ATP certificate.
  • 200 hours cross-country (>50 nm) flight time.
  • 250 hours fixed-wing Pilot in Command (PIC).
  • 100 hours of night flying, or 75 hours with ≥45 night takeoffs and landings.
  • 75 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated in-flight, excludes simulator time).
  • ATP written completed prior to start of Indoctrination Training.
  • 50 hours fixed-wing, multi-engine time.
  • Current FAA First-Class Medical certificate.
  • FCC Restricted Radio Operator’s Permit.
  • Must have a valid passport and be able to travel internationally without restrictions.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. and travel in and out of the country without restriction.
  • Ability to work varying hours including day and night; weekdays, weekends and holidays.
  • Must demonstrate extreme flexibility and the ability to adjust to rapid changes.
  • Ability to manage rest effectively to be prepared for flight duty at all times during their tour. Duty may last up to fourteen hours per day for up to eight days and may span different time zones and weather conditions. While on duty, may be away from home for seven or more days and nights, staying in hotels.
  • Ability to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges.
  • Ability to pass Transportation Security Administration required background screening.
  • Possess a valid State driver’s license.
  • Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language.
  • Service-oriented with a neat, well-groomed appearance and a demonstrated ability to make a positive impression, including effectively interacting with passengers.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, especially under pressure.
  • Ability to make quick and accurate decisions while paying close attention to detail, both technically and from a passenger-service perspective.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Ability to work around animals, including handling and care, and to conduct flights for Owners who smoke.
