Position Summary
Executive Jet Management is seeking highly qualified and motivated Captains for an Embraer Legacy 600 aircraft operating under Part 135 regulations. This position supports a dedicated aircraft owner with frequent travel primarily to destinations including New York, Miami, Teterboro, Aspen, and Scottsdale, along with international operations to the Caribbean and Canada. While the aircraft is based in Miami, FL, this is a homebased position offering crew members the flexibility to commute. The role operates within a multiple pilot rotation, supported by a Cabin Attendant. Preference will be given to candidates holding an EMB 145 type rating and those residing near a major airport with diverse flight options.
The Pilot in Command bears ultimate responsibility for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft. This requires strict adherence to all company policies and regulatory requirements, while simultaneously providing an outstanding service experience to passengers.
Key Responsibilities
The Pilot in Command is tasked with ensuring the highest standards of safety, service, and compliance:
- **Ensuring the Safe Operation of Flight:**
- Confirming crewing and trip assignments meet all company and regulatory requirements.
- Completing thorough flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks for each assignment.
- Leading required briefings utilizing Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) methodology to proactively mitigate operational risks.
- Complying strictly with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Coordinating effectively with company personnel as needed.
- Acting as the Ground Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator in accordance with company policy.
- Performing comprehensive aircraft pre-flight inspections, including verifying maintenance status to ensure the aircraft is mission-capable.
- Accurately recording all aircraft discrepancies following company SOPs.
- Monitoring and ensuring proper completion of all aircraft ground servicing tasks (e.g., fueling, oil, oxygen) according to SOPs.
- Conducting passenger briefings in compliance with company policy and regulations.
- Utilizing Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) principles to facilitate clear and timely communication with crew and support personnel during all phases of flight, including normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
- **Delivering an Exceptional Service Experience:**
- Providing consistently high-quality service to owners and passengers.
- Identifying opportunities to enhance the overall EJM service experience.
- Investigating and resolving any service deviations promptly.
- Collaborating effectively with fellow crew members and internal EJM partners to ensure a consistent service experience.
- Resolving conflicts and challenges in a professional and acceptable manner.
- **Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance:**
- Maintaining all required regulatory and company training.
- Ensuring recency of experience requirements are met.
- Complying with the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program.
- Reporting all safety concerns or non-compliance issues through the appropriate channels.
Qualifications and Requirements
- **Certifications and Licenses:** Must possess an FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
- **Experience:** Minimum of 4-6 years of relevant aviation experience. Prior experience in corporate or business aviation is preferred.
- **Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:**
- FAA Type rating in the Embraer Legacy (EMB 145) is highly preferred.
- Ability to perform all essential functions of the position.
- Must meet or exceed the following minimum flight time requirements:
- Total flight time: 3500 hours
- Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
- Pilot in Command Multi Engine Land (PIC MEL): 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
