Pilot in Command - Citation Longitude
Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking a qualified Pilot in Command (PIC) for an established flight department operating a new 2024 Citation Longitude aircraft based at Council Bluffs Iowa (CBF) airport. This three-pilot operation is supported by a dedicated Maintenance Technician, flying under Part 91 and Part 135 regulations, with an average of 400 flight hours annually. The successful candidate will be required to reside within a commutable distance of Council Bluffs Iowa airport.
Purpose of Position:
The Pilot in Command holds ultimate responsibility for ensuring that the aircraft is operated in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner. The PIC is accountable for adhering to all company and regulatory requirements while delivering an exceptional service experience to passengers.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Ensuring Safe Flight Operations:
- Adhering to all company and regulatory requirements when assigning crew and flight schedules.
- Completing comprehensive flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks for each flight assignment.
- Leading required briefings, utilizing Threats, Plans and Considerations (TPC) methodology to effectively mitigate operational risks.
- Maintaining strict adherence to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinating with company personnel as necessary.
- Acting as the Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator as defined by company policy.
- Conducting thorough pre-flight inspections of the aircraft, including the assessment of maintenance status, to ensure it is mission-capable. Recording all aircraft discrepancies in accordance with company SOPs.
- Ensuring all aircraft ground servicing items (e.g., fueling, oil, oxygen) are monitored and completed according to SOPs.
- Delivering passenger briefings in accordance with company policy and regulations, prioritizing the highest level of customer service and accommodating any special passenger needs (e.g., physically challenged).
- Utilizing Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) to effectively communicate with crew members and support personnel in a clear and timely manner during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
Delivering an Exceptional Service Experience:
- Providing exceptional service to aircraft owners and passengers while proactively identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience.
- Regularly investigating and resolving any service deviations.
- Collaborating with fellow crew members and EJM internal partners to ensure a consistent service experience for owners and passengers.
- Effectively resolving conflicts and challenges in a professional and acceptable manner.
Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance:
- Maintaining all regulatory and company-required training and recency of experience.
- Demonstrating compliance with the company Safety Management System (SMS) program and promptly reporting any safety concerns or non-compliance issues through the appropriate channels.
Certifications and Licenses:
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
- First Class Medical Certificate.
Years of Experience:
Minimum of 4-6 years of flight experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other (KSAOs):
- Prior experience in corporate/business aviation is preferred.
- FAA Type rating in the applicable fleet.
- Ability to perform all essential functions of the position.
- Minimum Time Requirements:
- Total flight time: 3,500 hours.
- Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1,500 hours.
- Pilot in Command: 2,000 hours.
- PIC MEL: 500 hours.
- Instrument: 300 hours.
- Jet: 500 hours.
