Sovereign Captain/First Officer - Burlington, VT (KBTV)
Executive Jet Management, a Berkshire Hathaway company, seeks experienced aviators to join our team as Sovereign Captains and First Officers based in Burlington, VT (KBTV). This Part 135 position offers the opportunity to be part of a three-pilot account flying a sophisticated aircraft for discerning clientele. Candidates must reside within a two-hour radius of KBTV to be considered.
About the Role:
The Pilot in Command (PIC) bears the ultimate responsibility of ensuring all flights are conducted safely, efficiently, and in strict adherence to both company standards and regulatory requirements. The PIC serves as a brand ambassador, striving to deliver an exceptional service experience to every passenger.
Responsibilities:
- Safety First:
- Ensure all crew assignments and flight operations comply with company and regulatory guidelines.
- Meticulously complete pre-flight tasks, including flight planning, performance calculations, weight and balance verification, and aircraft maintenance status reviews.
- Utilize the Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead pre-flight briefings and proactively mitigate potential operational risks.
- Adhere to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and act as the designated Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator.
- Diligently monitor and manage all aircraft ground servicing aspects, including fueling, oil levels, and oxygen replenishment.
- Conduct thorough passenger briefings, ensuring clarity and addressing any specific needs, including those of passengers with disabilities.
- Employ Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) principles to foster clear and timely communication with crew members and support personnel during all phases of flight, including normal, abnormal, and emergency situations.
- Service Excellence:
- Deliver a consistently high level of service to aircraft owners and passengers, remaining attentive to opportunities for enhancing the EJM experience.
- Proactively identify and address service deviations, working collaboratively with fellow crew members and internal EJM partners to ensure a seamless and positive experience for all passengers.
- Exhibit professionalism and composure when resolving conflicts or addressing challenges.
- Professional Development:
- Maintain unwavering compliance with all regulatory and company-mandated training requirements and recency of experience standards.

Qualifications:
Pilot in Command:
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate preferred
- Prior corporate/business aviation experience highly desired
- FAA Type rating in the Sovereign required
- Ability to fulfill all essential job functions
- Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
- Total Time: 3,500 hours
- Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1,500 hours
- Pilot in Command (PIC): 2,000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
Second in Command:
- Commercial Pilot (CPL) certificate required
- Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
- Total Time: 2,500 hours
- Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 500 hours
- Pilot in Command (PIC): 500 hours
- Instrument: 150 hours
- Jet: 250 hours
- Turbine Engine: 100 hours
- Time in Type (Sovereign): 50 hours
Compensation & Benefits:
EJM offers a competitive salary range of $110,000 - $432,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
