Airline First Officer

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
Education
- A High School Diploma is required.
Certifications and Licenses
- Possession of an FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate or eligibility for a Restricted Airline Transport Pilot (R-ATP) certificate.
- A current FAA First-Class Medical Certificate.
- An FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements (KSAOs)
Candidates must possess an FAA ATP, Restricted ATP (R-ATP), or demonstrably meet the comprehensive requirements for either certificate with a multi-engine rating, in strict accordance with FAA 14 CFR 61.160. Specific flight experience criteria include:
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- Total Flight Time Experience:
- 1,500 hours; OR
- 1,250 hours with an appropriate university R-ATP certificate; OR
- 1,000 hours with military pilot qualification; OR
- 1,000 hours with an appropriate university R-ATP certificate.
- 200 hours of cross-country flight time (defined as greater than 50 nautical miles).
- 250 hours of fixed-wing Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.
- 100 hours of night flying, or 75 hours with a minimum of 45 night takeoffs and landings.
- 75 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated in-flight, excluding simulator time).
- Completion of the ATP written examination prior to the commencement of Indoctrination Training.
- 50 hours of fixed-wing, multi-engine time.
- A current FAA First-Class Medical certificate.
- Must possess a valid passport and the unrestricted ability to travel internationally.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. and the unrestricted ability to travel in and out of the country.
