First Officer - South Region

About the Role
The First Officer is integral to providing a superior air transportation experience, upholding NetJets' unparalleled safety record on every flight. This critical role serves as a key representative of NetJets, ensuring not only technically precise and safe transportation but also delivering an exceptional service experience for every NetJets Owner and passenger. First Officers are expected to embody a concierge service level, adeptly transitioning between the roles of a highly professional aviator and an attentive in-flight service provider. The First Officer supports the Captain in maintaining full command of the aircraft at all times and is expected to maintain a professional demeanor under all circumstances.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Captain in the safe operation of the aircraft, adhering to all FAA guidelines, Original Equipment Manufacturer's (OEM) Checklists, NetJets Flight Operations Manual (FOM), Aircraft Operating Manual (AOM), and Standard Operating Practices (SOPs) during taxi, take-off, and landing.
- Engage with Owners and passengers pre-flight, facilitating introductions, providing comprehensive flight briefings, verifying itineraries, delivering weather updates, conducting safety briefings, and communicating any itinerary adjustments.
- Provide discreet and professional in-flight service, including the handling of alcoholic beverages and the service of catering.
- Efficiently load and properly stow all passenger baggage within the aircraft.
- Demonstrate adaptability and professionalism in conducting flights for Owners accompanied by pets or those who smoke.
- Act as a liaison between Owners/passengers and NetJets, from the moment of arrival at the Fixed-Base Operator (FBO) until safe landing at the final destination and departure from the terminal FBO.
- Proactively communicate any aircraft maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies to the Company's Maintenance Control Center (MCC) Controller for the assigned fleet.
- Diligently complete all necessary paperwork associated with maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies.
- Perform other duties as assigned, commensurate with the operational demands of the position.
Location
This role supports the South Region, encompassing various operational bases throughout the Southern United States. Desired candidates will be able to operate from or relocate to areas within Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Alabama, and Mississippi. Specific operational bases may include, but are not limited to:
- Florida: Orlando, Melbourne, Pensacola, Miami, Daytona Beach, Savannah, Panama City, Key West, Jacksonville, Fort Lauderdale, Eglin AFB, Tampa, Tallahassee, West Palm Beach, Fort Myers, Sarasota, Gainesville.
- Georgia: Atlanta, Savannah, Augusta.
- Louisiana: Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Shreveport, New Orleans, Alexandria.
- Alabama: Mobile, Huntsville, Birmingham, Montgomery.
- Mississippi: Gulfport.
Note: The geographic scope listed is extensive, and candidates should be prepared for potential assignments across these states.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Certifications and Licenses
- Valid FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) written examination passed.
- Current FAA First-Class Medical Certificate.
- FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit.
- Valid United States passport, enabling international travel without restrictions.
- Valid State driver's license.
Experience & Flight Time Requirements
Candidates must possess an FAA ATP, Restricted ATP, or meet the requirements for an FAA ATP or Restricted ATP (R-ATP) certificate with a multi-engine rating, in accordance with 14 CFR Part 61.160, including:
- At least 21 years of age.
- Total Flight Time:
- 1,500 hours total flight time experience; or
- 1,250 hours with an appropriate university R-ATP certificate; or
- 1,000 hours with military pilot qualification; or
- 1,000 hours with an appropriate university R-ATP certificate (as specified by 14 CFR Part 61.160).
- Flight Experience:
- 200 hours cross-country (>50 nm) flight time.
- 250 hours fixed-wing Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.
- 100 hours of night flying, or 75 hours with at least 45 night takeoffs and landings.
- 75 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated in-flight, excluding simulator time).
- 50 hours fixed-wing, multi-engine time.
- ATP written examination must be completed prior to the start of Indoctrination Training.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements (KSAOs)
- Authorization to work in the U.S. and travel in and out of the country without restriction.
- Ability to work varying hours, including day and night shifts, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Demonstrated extreme flexibility and capability to adjust to rapid operational changes.
- Proactive management of rest periods to ensure readiness for flight duty at all times during assigned tours.
- Preparedness for duty periods lasting up to fourteen hours per day for up to eight consecutive days, potentially spanning different time zones and extreme weather conditions within a single trip.
- Readiness to be away from home for seven or more days and nights while on duty, staying in hotels.
- Ability to secure and maintain appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges.
- Successful completion of Transportation Security Administration (TSA) required background screening.
- Proficiency to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language.
- A service-oriented demeanor with a neat, well-groomed appearance, demonstrating a strong capability to make a positive impression and effectively interact with passengers.
- Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to make quick and accurate decisions while maintaining close attention to detail, both from a technical aviation standpoint and a passenger-service perspective.
- Physical ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Comfort and ability to work around animals, including handling and care prior to, during, and after Owner flights.
- Ability to conduct flights for Owners who smoke.
